    2. Search for Kik
    3. Download it
    4. Create an account using email (it's free)
    5. Preferably set your username as your IGN (it can be changed)
    6. Join group
    7. Start chatting!

    WhatsApp gives other people your phone number, possibly your real life name/surname, irl picture and takes away anonymity.

    KIK doesn't do any of that.

    I remember our Kik Group, active for 1 month then now the last message was probably back in 2016.
    (Yes I know 2016 was just last year, saying back sounds like I'm talking about the 80s)
