I have been wanting to apply for staff for a while now, I fell in love with the server as soon as I started playing. But I have a few questions about the different roles staff play.

    1. Do you have to be on Teamspeak/discord?
I wouldn't like having my voice online for many reasons (they are personal). Would it still be alright if i am active on the in-game chat?

    2. Are staff only responsible for making sure people follow the rules?
Do staff members contribute to the development of the server or do they just make sure everything is runs smoothly on the server?

Hello there, first off welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Here are a few useful links when applying for staff

As for teamspeak, yes that is a requirement for staff. This is explained in more detail in the threads above.

As for development of the server, I shall leave a staff member to answer that one.
Forum activity is also a must should you wish to become a staff member.

Nice to meet you pal and have fun!

You need to be active in all 3 areas of the game:
    - In-game
    - Forums
    - Teamspeak

The response above gives the links that basically answer all the information on this, and the other requirements.

To your second question. Staff do make things run smoothly by ensuring players are abiding by the rules of the server. They moderate in-game, on forums, and on Teamspeak, keeping players who use cheats and who break chat rules under control. They are also involved in progressing Brawl's servers - This involves coming up with ideas, getting the communities opinions etc. The Developers are the people who do all the coding, however staff can be involved in what changes are made to servers, with your involvement in this side of things becoming more as you increase in staff rank. Staff are also involved in testing new servers before they are released.

Hope this answers your questions - Feel free to PM me or post here further if you have any more.

    1. You need to be active on TS. You don't have to speak though - as long as you have a mic, its fine. Before I got JMod, I sat in a channel for 30 minutes a day even if no-one joined it.

    2. Its their main job, but there is more to it. You'll be able to test upcoming updates out, and will be able to help with ideas for future updates for all gamemodes other than CTF (albeit usually this is pointless, unless higher-ups specifically ask for help). If you play HG, you can do the kit rotation each month. If you apply specifically for CTF, you can be in the committee. You can also help out with events on gamemodes you're familiar with, but usually an SMod will be needed to host events. However, these other roles aren't as important as sorting out rule breakers.
