I like what you are trying to do. As for the video quality, is it because of your toaster laptop or is OBS interfering with the video quality?

If it's the toaster that's causing the problem, I suggest searching for FPS booster packs as well as general programs that boost you're Frames for Minecraft.
If OBS is the problem, I suggest downloading oversold, it's the one I use and is pretty good considering its free.

 

- Try messing with OBS it might be an issue with the software
- Test other recording softwares that may suit your laptop more
- In-game have optifine and lower render distance substantially, turn particles off, make sure everything is set for fast performance for best FPS, google more ways to help FPS.
- Better FPS textures packs? Don't think these help too much though.
- Try finding other ways to boost FPS through the internet

 

Or...just buy a good computer!

 

- Take all the crap off with respect to add-ons. Use VANILLA Minecraft.
- I'd tell you to get a video card, but you have a laptop so that's not an option.
- Look at your memory usage, and see if you can expand memory in your computer. Laptops tend to use general memory for the video card as well, and if Minecraft is also using up the memory too then you'll get FPS issues.
- Check your pings, see if that's having an issue. If you have tons of dropped packets or lag, that will actually cause what you are seeing as well. I went to my cable company this week and doubled my internet speed, as well as got a dual band router, and routed my devices where possible to the faster band. This ended up freeing up bandwidth somewhere in my setup, and I get very little lag now.
- Close any other programs out on your laptop, including Internet Exploder.
- If at all possible, reduce streaming media usage when you are recording. I got the most issues when my daughter was using Netflix and my wife was using Roku. So if you are watching Netflix while playing, not a good idea.
