    Brawl's server host.
If i'm not mistaken, Brawl is hosted in Canada. This makes sense to why the international Brawl players are lagging. (Germany, England, Japan, ECT.) As the people in Canada playing brawl might get up to 20ms, INTERNATIONAL players might get somewhere between, i don't know, 400-600ms. Which is a HUGE difference. Some neighboring countries, such as America, don't get that high of ping. I know this because I am American, and I get around 60ms while playing. Which don't get me wrong, is perfectly fine, But MOST of brawls community is either American, German, British, or Asian. What i'm saying is, move the host to where it is EQUAL for ALL of the community to almost average the same ping. It will help a lot.

I am from the West coast of the United States, and I get between 90-100ms. If I remember correctly, Brawl is hosted 0n the Eastern side of North America. No matter where you host the server there will be a certain group of people whose ping is higher than others. Since the majority of players are from North America and Europe, the server is hosted where it is. That leaves the Oceanic and Asian players with higher ping.

Brawl doesn't really have Asian players. Eu ping is at around 100 to 250, so it's acceptable. No need to change the server host.

Some players are getting 10-20ms, which is a huge advantage compared to 100-250 ping. Especially when it comes to PvP, or using certain items.

Eventually people from a certain region will suffer from high ping, it's impossible to have everyone equal unless everyone stays in America or something.

400-600ms is quite a lot. I am EU and I have 120 ms almost all the time (except when my internet screws me over then I get 1000 ms). Aussies get like 400ms thought which is a lot. But I am sorry @SaltWood, there is nothing we can do about it as Matt stated before.

I am from France and I usually get ~80ms. It might be a high one but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the whole infrastructure of the network.

We got several korean WarZ regulars and we've got Australians that suffer with lag. There's no big difference between Germany and america since we most likely get the same ping if you're not living at the border to Canada.

It also depends if your connection with the main host is good or not. Last time I played I had around 120 ping and I live in Belgium. My internet is sometimes not stable which causes the lag for certain people.

Skill easily defeats those ms. Just look at me, I have been at the top of the leader board in both war and ctf.

Sorry but I have a 250 to 300 ping, on the other hand Americans get a 30 to 100 ping.
It's great to hear that we have Korean and Australian players but they don't even make 1% of the community.

Yes, but changing the server host won't change the fact that you have an unstable connection.

Tbh they do and americans get the same amount of ping as I do and I live in the south of Germany. If an American lives close to the border to Canada their ping will obviously be better.

I usually get around 120ms on my laptop, living in Sweden. I have never feelt any disadvantage because of this. 120ms isn't much compared to the client side lag differences that people often complain about.

The average humans reaction, that is ~250ms, (according to this test) compared to computer ping shows that the differences between different individuals reaction is a greater part of who reacts first in a situation. But of course, there is still a difference even though it is as low as a difference of 50-60ms.

Where should Brawl host a server so its fair for America and Europe, the middle of the Atlantic ocean?

I don't see the point in hosting a server in Canada if it could be hosted in America, as this is where most of Brawl's player traffic would be, I assume (unless OVH only hosts in Canada, I'm too lazy to research it but at the same time, OVH is a crap host and whenever Brawl is financially able to, they should probably get a better one :v).

Also, I'm British and get a low of 85ms and a high of 105ms. This is fine for any gamemode on Brawl which isn't hardcore or fast-paced (so it does effect me a bit on CTF since its very fast-paced, but not a huge amount really). Although it would be nice for Brawl to have hosts in different regions, it is too expensive and Brawl does not have the player-base to support this.

I get about 90ms and it's fine. I think brawl is just generally very laggy and a lot of things are poor (hit detection, soup lag, other stuff)

Eventhough what you stated above is true, regarding my experience of lag even when PvPing I don't come against a very high ping. I usually get 100 to 200 ms but in some extreme situations were my internet faces problems I get up to 1000 ms. Even if lag spikes are things I am used to them. I've learnt to accept that and keep playing like I always do.
Now in my opinion, hosting a new server isn't much needed. I would like to experience Brawl in a lower ping but still, it isn't needed to happen.
The only thing that makes me wonder is what ping conditions Australian players' play on. Since Australia is a very remote island on the Southern Hemisphere and having the server set on the opposite side of the world in Canada there should be a huge ping problem in there. Now on the other hand, considering the fact that we don't have a huge amount of Australian players should make this problem look smaller but there are still some that exist. I have an open question to all Australian or Indonesian players:
    1. Are you satisfied with Brawl's current host?
    2. Do you experience any ping problems? What are the ping values you play on?
Concluding, my opinion of Brawl's host is fine. I don't have any problems with it and I don't think hosting a new server is compulsory.

What do you think? Do you agree with me?
