Ideas for WarZ 2.0

    So it has been said a few times that a rework of WarZ/WarZ 2.0 is in the works as of now. While War 2.0 is the main mode being developed and it is uncertain if WarZ 2.0 is even being worked on at all, I have some ideas for what would make WarZ 2.0 a fun and unique gamemode. Some of these ideas as taken from other servers, but some of them will be unique ideas.



    1. Have a larger map

    When the "New (almost 3 years old" WarZ map came out, it was quite clear that it was a lot smaller than the previous map, which in turn made it into a more PvP centered mode than the old map. While this is very good for players that seek a completely PvP centered mode (aka current WarZ), it is not optimal for players seeking a more classic zombie survival mode. My suggestion is to make a map that is much larger than even the old map with more locations than the current maps, which would take away a good bit of the PvP element and give new players a chance to find uninhabited locations to peacefully loot.



    2. Better locations of zones

    Lets face it, for a populated server (40ish non MVP players playing the game as "Whitenames" usually do), the old map is a complete cluster**** of zone positioning. On the new map almost every spawn has a zone 4 or higher within render distance or easy walking distance. This completely destroys any chance of newspawns being able to loot up because every place will have people that can completely overpower them. In WarZ 2.0, the map would follow a more organized pattern, with only zone 1 towns within walking distance of the spawns and have the zone value steadily increase the further north you go. I would however promote there being random high level zones not too far north to give a high-risk high-reward option to players who are willing to take the risk of going there. Another idea is to make different types of zone, civilian or military. While civilian zones would have a lesser chance to spawn military guns, they would spawn more items like medical supplies and food, with the military zones being the opposite. This could have a few potential problems if the zones are too spaced out however.



    3. Loot amounts.

    In WarZ 2.0 I think it would be beneficial to increase the chest refill timer to 10 minutes from the current 5 minutes. This would make it take a bit more time to get geared up and still give players coming into the town/location you are at to kill you before you get fully geared up. I also would suggest making chests not as dense in some southern towns in order to further increase the time it takes to gear up in order to give newspawns a chance to kill you. Another idea is to make the loot chests have in them vary, with some chests having less loot (under 2) and some having more.



    4. Rework the way PvP works.

    The current WarZ feels less like an FPS and more like a MOBA when it comes to PvP. While this is not exactly a bad thing, it does make PvP a bit boring, with most of it consisting of getting off a combo then healing while the enemy does a combo, going through the cycle until someone dies. In WarZ 2.0 this system would be vastly different. I am going to split this into two categories.



    Part 1, Food and healing

    First food would be redone to be normal Minecraft food eaten in the same way. Instead of instantly healing you and replenishing your hunger, the new food would just be normal Minecraft food that does not heal you. This would remove the ability to instantly heal in combat, which would vastly mix up the way combat goes, with people having to be much more careful when fighting because you cant simply heal damage you take in an instant. Instead healing would be done in a different way, medkits. Medkits would come in 3 different sizes, small, medium and large. Each one would work like this, you right click the medkit and stand still for a few seconds (2 for small, 4 for medium and 6 for large) and it would heal you instantly (2.5 hearts for small, 4 for medium and 5 for large). If you move or switch hotbar spaces the process will stop. Medkits would be retextured records to prevent them from stacking. This would make healing in combat possible if one is able to disengage and get into cover to heal. Passive healing would also be enabled, with .5 hearts being healed every 5 seconds.



    Part 2, Gun combat

    Gun combat would also change a good bit. When reloading you would have to keep that gun in your hand or the reload would stop. There would also be a 2 second delay between switching weapons, which would effectively remove comboing. The removal of comboing would be compensated for by not being able to instantly heal in combat. Bullet knockback would be heavily/completly negated.

    These changes to the combat system would hopefully take the combat away from a mostly close range brawl and turn it into a somewhat realistic combat style seen in games like DayZ.



    5. Armor changes

    Now this change would be quite a big one and would completely change the way armor works. I am also not sure if some of these changes/mechanics would be codeable with the current plugins. My first change would be to make it so it is very hard to gain a large level of damage resistance. This would mean making the highest available tier of armor that provides actual damage resistances be iron armor, with diamond armor being completely removed from the game. A way to substitute the removal of a 3rd tier of armor, chain mail would be added, as well as some special armor pieces (gold) that would provide special bonuses that would spawn only in zone 6. I will give a brief summary of what zones certain armor pieces would spawn in and what the best possible armor setup one could get from that zone. In zone 2 it would be possible to get full leather armor with a small chance to get chain helmets. In zone 3 it would be possible to get 2/4 chain armor, with chain chestplates having a small chance of spawning and the chance of finding chain helmets increased. In zone 4 it would be possible to find full chain armor with a small chance of iron helmets spawning. In zone 5 it would be possible to get 2/4 iron with iron chestplates and helmets spawning. And finally in zone 6 it would be possible to get full iron armor. This would hopefully decrease the massive difference that full sets of armor have when it comes to damage reduction. I also would recommend adding special armor pieces that only spawn in Zone 6. The first would be gold helmets, which would increase the time players can spend underwater as well as giving them night vision. Gold chestplates would increase the passive healing to 1 heart every 5 seconds. Gold leggings would decrease the falling damage taken by players by 50 percent and make it so you cant break your legs. And finally gold boots would give the player speed 1 when worn. These would have the same durability as normal gold armor so they would have to be used sparingly and would make the use of them quite interesting, with players being encouraged to swap them out for other armor pieces when their bonus would be of use in order to counter the low durability.





    These are just a few things I would like to see in WarZ 2.0. I do apologize for the cluttered nature of this post. I do have many more ideas but I don't feel like writing them down at the moment, although I might do them in a future post.

    People that currently play WarZ like the fast paces game and reloading a gun that's not in your hand is one of these things.

    I really like your Ideas but we are currently not sure how 2.0 will end since Signatured is focusing on Battle royale.

    As much as I'd like some radical change to WarZ, this scares me :wideyed: It would be an entirely different server with all of these changes!

    Yeah I was thinking of making an entirely different server for this. I think the new mode would potentially attract more players given the fact that it would be a lot easier for new players to get into unlike the current state of WarZ.
