    Hello,
I'm going to start of by saying that my english is not that good, and I already know it xP.

I feel like a lot of people dont really understand what makes WarZ such an addictive playstyle for many players and the concept behinde it. I think if I spread this information, maybe someone more creative minded than me might be able to find out some solutions to make WarZ even more appealing for the players.

Ok, You need to look what WarZ is based on, just like any other PvP servers and pretty much like anything in the entire world is based on. They are based on psychological effects that cause us to enjoy it. PvP players often find themselves appealed to more of a ludomania effect, also known as gambling addiction. Ever wonderd why?

Tell me, how many of the current regulars who play WarZ have tried any kind of gambling and actually enjoyed it quite a lot? That is because WarZ is based upon the same addiction as ludomania.

High risk = High reward = A rush of emotions.

If someone with a high risk of losing a fight, lets say they are 2x less people and have worse loot. If they win they get this rush of emotions which makes the game pure fun and you forget all about your real life problems for some time. This feeling is the thing that makes people addicted to WarZ.

Low risk = Low reward = A rush of emotions.

Now, lets say you have a low risk of losing, and you still lose. What happends? You get angry of course. Just like gambling you feel more problems on your shoulders. This either resaults in two ways.

    1. RageQuit (In the gambling world a lot of people take suicide however that is not to relevant here since its just a video game xP)
    2. They get obsessed with gaining their loot back(In the gambling world they would continue and continue)

Usually in WarZ people gets obsessed with gaining their loot back, just like if it is the most important thing to do in the entire world for some minutes. This aswell is extremly addictive.

The reason why many players want big teams, and some people prefer to play alone is the Social facilitation effect, which makes you perform differently during communication due to stress or relaxiation.

Another issue that WarZ has is the toxic community. Ever wonderd why? Well, a huge part of this is because of the anger when losing a low risk situasion, however there are some other effects that apply to this as well. Anchoring, also known as focalism describes the common human tendency to rely too heavily on the first piece of information offered when making decisions. Another thing is the negative effect, which pretty much means that the negative events applies a bigger role on how we act and make decisions.

As a conclusion you might look on this and think this doesnt apply to me. Well, it might not, however most players addicted to PvP servers usually fit into these categories. WarZ would attract a more different kind of players if it was more equallity in it. And most MC players now chose minigames over gamemodes since they are quicker to learn and does not require a lot of time dedicated to learn it. Those players usually have around the average iq of a normal human being.

When you think about it, is it not weird how the good WarZ players are either smarter than an average person, or dumber? Its because the gamemode fits those who learn either more advanced than average, or you can be dumber than average which again makes thing easier to learn as you dont overthink it. While an average player with an average iq could never truly learn WarZ as fast and find it as fun as the other two types.

    Regards,
    BeastCraft3
