Changing things up a bit, instead of using the current fill in the blank type application format, we use an open ended essay type format.

I propose a new staff application format.
    One that is radically changed.
    Kind of.

Please write an essay on why you think you should be a staff member. This essay should include information on, but is not limited to:
    • Your age
    • Your knowledge of Minecraft
    • Your experience moderating
    • What you'll provide to the community
    • Your activity on the forums, ingame, and on TeamSpeak
    • Your greatest strengths and weaknesses
    • How you deal with rule breakers
    • When you'd lock a thread
    • How you react to being proven wrong
    • A short description of yourself
    • How you would deal with a player out of map on MC-WAR.
So basically the current format, but more open ended.

I think if the applicant is not given a clear plan to follow, we may not get the necessary information we require to judge from them.

I prefer the current one. It's a good idea, I just don't think it should be implemented.

I prefer the current one but change is always good. I would give it a +1 for either.

EDIT: My bad I meant to give this post a 1+ for "yes" on the poll.

We have to write essays to become a mod? That's is too much work for us lazy people.

I like the idea and I would much rather use this, but what about the kids who join and post a mod app as their first post..? That would be a challenge, but I think, for people like them, the outline is a bit "easier" to understand.

It would be a challenge for them, which means that some people might give up immediately. Less bad applications, more good ones. Win win :V

I think this might add more depth into mod apps besides filling in the blanks.

Pretty nice idea, although how long would you consider a "decent length". Like 6 paragraphs?
