Why the hell can't I see who banned who again?

    This rule is really dumb in my own opinion, and I'm open to all contradicting opinions on this thread.

    So here's what happened today.

    I got a kid banned for aimbot on warz, he is now permbanned.
    He had 3 teammates, 2 of which got ridealong banned.
    1 of his teammates DID NOT get banned, despite him fighting with the team and running side by side, as well as being FRIENDED to the teammates. He is still not banned.

    I have no clue who banned the aimbotter, so I can't ****ing contact him/her to show proof of the ridealong and the logs. And no, do not say that "i can just report it now" no. that literally wont solve anything because it takes 12341x as long and this issue could have already been resolved if I knew who banned???

    Pros
    - Quick and easy contact. Reasoning for bans could be made quick without cluttering the appeal section.
    - Directing evidence for or against the ban quickly and avoiding the **** I had to go through

    Cons
    - Aww! Criticism!

    Make it, so we can see who banned who.

    I'll just add on to the fact that there's people like JokerDoflamingo/iMingo who have threatened to DDoS (and implied worse) any staff members involved in their ban. But hey, that's a pretty small issue, can't blame you for just brushing over it.

    You seem to forget that I was STAFF when it showed WHO BANNED WHO.

    I was a warz mod.

    dont argue with me.
    (i saw it when i was a player, not a mod)

    like i said opinions are accepted: not wrong ones

    I agree but it used to be like that and nothing really happened. I can still find out who banned who based on process of elimination.

    Having been a member of various staff teams, getting DDoS'd, swatted, and DoX'd because you're doing your work is no fun.
    It'd honestly be better the way it is. Maybe if the ban was appealed (due to lacking evidence, falseban, and so on), then you could see it I guess.

    As explained above, the banning staff member is not shown publicy for safety reasons. We had a poll related to this issue in the staff team before and a majority voted for keeping the names of the banner confidential.
    Unfortunately there are some players who will target, threaten or even DDoS / DoX staff members, so this is a necessity.
    Not going to be implemented,
    Locked.

    P.S: Even if you knew who banned you, you would still have to create an appeal for documentation and transparency reasons.

    If you're correct, why is my arguing a problem for you? Surely if you're so certain you're correct, you shouldn't have to attempt to silence me, as you can just disprove everything I have to say. :smile:

    And, perhaps you were a staff member when it showed who banned who. However, this doesn't change the fact that people have threatened DDoS, DoX and all other fun surprises on staff members who've banned them. Although not on this server, I've also heard of staff members getting SWATed over bans. People can be truly pathetic sometimes.

    Considering the issue that this suggestion tries to fix can also be fixed by making a report, I don't see how the pros outweigh the cons. Let me tell you this: if this change is implemented, I will simply refuse to ban some people even if they're blatantly hacking, for my own safety. And will go through a demotion if that is the consequence, too.
