Brawl Junior Moderator Application​

What is your in-game name? - Carsonn

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? - Yes.

How old are you? - 16 (Nov 10, 2000)

What time zone are you in? - CST

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - No.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - The first time Brawl was introduced to me was in late 2012 or early 2013, when I began playing Mc-War. Since then, I have taken a few leaves of absence, but in short, I’ve been here for well over 4 years. Years passed as I watched the changes occur regarding leadership, content, and overall state of Brawl’s servers. I’ve had at least a taste of almost all of Brawl’s servers, and my time here has allowed me to develop an exceptionally in-depth understanding of how the game modes function.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I am a moderator on an MC-WarZ practice server called M4Play. The position includes finding and punishing rule-breakers, screensharing, and simply making sure the server is enjoyable.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? - There will be a lot of changes coming to MC-WarZ such as the ban wipe, VPN block, and full reset. If I was allowed a small bit of authority, I feel like I would be able to assist a lot as the changes occur, as well as make sure that Brawl’s issues in general become as minimal as possible.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Yes.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? - The only legitimate punishment was a temporary ban for “Minor DDoS Threats” earlier this year (on Brawl). The server was running quite slow at the time, and I ended up saying something along the lines of “mission failed: we'll lag 'em next time.” Obviously that could be interpreted as a threat, but I was able to appeal to reduce the ban to 24 hours. It was something that was completely my fault, and shouldn't have occurred.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - If this was a sales pitch, my strongest selling point would be my concision and sternness regarding punishments. As a staff member on M4Play, I like to consider myself as unbiased as possible when punishing. If it equates to a less-than-popular image, I will put the needs of the server before the needs of my friends or those of myself.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - Only recently have I become active on the forums. A quick glance at my posts would reveal a somewhat lower-than-average amount of posts that one would categorize as ideas or even helpful. I wish I had a way to justify this lack of activity other than simply not posting a lot. I believe my greatest weakness is my lack of outspokenness. I browse the forums every day and give opinions on topics that I find relevant, however I understand that I lack a “reputation” on the forums compared to other candidates.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? - MC-WarZ, KitBrawl, and some Wild West.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - 1

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - October 2, 2013

Do you have TeamSpeak? - Yes.

Anything else you would like to state? - Regarding TeamSpeak, I am unfortunately unable to verbally talk on most days. Around once in 5-6 days I am able to speak, and to make up for this flaw, I am somewhat known for using a soundboard that includes basic responses such as “yes” and “no”. Albeit out of the ordinary, my soundboard gets the job done in most cases.

Also, I do realize that M4Play has stolen content from Brawl, and that I can’t be a staff member on both Brawl and M4Play. If accepted to the staff team, I will make sure that Brawl will take priority and that I will no longer be a moderator on M4Play.

You do bring up a good point regarding loyalty.
In my mind, applying for staff for M4Play was a sort of "first step" toward gaining the experience I needed so that I could better prepare myself for becoming staff on a larger server, namely Brawl. Because the two servers have virtually the same community, I felt as if I would get a better feel for how to deal with the players' issues on M4Play first. Not to put down M4Play, but it is considerably more difficult to become staff here than on that server.
That being said, I also don't really play anything other than Brawl, so all of my priority will be focused on this server.
Hopefully that answered your question and allowed me to clarify that point.

Well, the thing is, M4Play has "stolen assets" from Brawl. Basically there are a lot of maps from the WarZ map on M4Play, so therefore it wouldn't be fit to be staff on both. As stated above, Brawl will take priority if I'm given the opportunity.
