Bought an unban for the guy who raided me.

We (usually) accept appeals after a month long ban if they show remorse. Only permbans are 6 months minimum

 

It is very important that all rule breakers are treated similarly; allowing the victims of rule breakers to give input on the punishment is diametral to this. I also don't really see why it is necessary: They broke the rules, they will get the appropriate punishment. Why should the victim have something to say about the punishment?

The ability to buy unlimited unbans could be extremly frustrating for both staff members and players when hackers keep coming back, just because they have enough money. It is also pointless because we currently permban after the third un-appealed ban, so you couldn't purchase an unban for that ban anyways.

The punishment durations have been like this for years and I don't recall anyone complaining about bans for hacking being too short ever before, so I think they are fine.

 

I have been witness of xrayers buying an unban as soon as they got banned and coming back like nothing happened. Therefore, the cost of the first unban as the other ones should be increased imo.

Very nice of you. I wouldn't mind hackers/banned players to buy themselves out of trouble, as long as the price to be unbanned is increased, after all more unbans bought= more money.

 

I do kind of like Graff's idea of the victim choosing the punishment in a way as the victim is the only one that has been affected but also I see your point in that there hasn't been a problem before. Maybe there could be a minimun punishment e.g 3 days for a certain offence and the maximum is 6 days and the victim could choose. Although I've had a base when it has literally taken a week and a half until it had got rolled back, partly due to lack of SMODs (only Eil is the only SMOD that ever comes on :/ ) but also because the time that it takes to sometimes find evidence of xray. I'm not saying that that last point was the fault of the SMOD as they are just trying to make sure they are right and that they aren't false banning the person but surely if you have to wait a while you should be able to have some say in what happens or at least a few gold to increase your balance.
