    Here's a map I spent a few hours of mcedit and minecraft working on. It is a capture-the-flag map which consists of two floating islands. One of them is a desert-like one which has custom trees as well as some sandstone structures, a sniper-tower and a secret pharaoh tomb! Can you find it? There are launch pads and thin bridges connecting it to the snow-island! The snow island has advanced terrain (just like the desert), quartz structures, custom taiga trees, a tree-sniper post and a secret ice cave! Both islands have secret passages that lead to launch pads which take you to the other island! The red-team spawn is next to the red soldier painting on the desert island. The blue-team spawn is next to the blue soldier painting on the snow island.

    All features:
    Two bridges connecting the islands, a broken bridge with launch pads on each end, epic trees, custom terrain, chopped down trees on the snow island, blown-up walls surrounding the flag posts, sniper posts for each island, specific spawn-points, close attention to detail, large islands, giant flags, secret areas, detailed island-bottoms and secret passages!

    New features: I received numerous comments on how I should improve the map. First of all, there are already tons of sponges (launch pads) on the map. But I added a tank and a jeep in the snow island. I got rid of the paintings and item frames because that fall off when matches start. I also added a helicopter that holds a platform with four launch pads. One leads to death, another lands you on the bridge and the last two launch you to the islands. (Well putty has to program them to do that first). In addition, I also put a few small props.

    Gamemodes:
    This map is great for team games but not so much FFA types. Here are the types that could be used:

    Capture-the-Flag
    Capture the flag is the main game type that this map supports. It forces players to fight for the bridges and launch pads to create some pretty epic experiences.

    Team-Death-Match
    Team death matches are great for this map too! Players can snipe from their islands or brave the bridges and jump pads to the enemy side for lots of kills. Team death matches will surely bring lots of exhilaration to players on this map.

    Infected
    Sand n' Snow is cool for infected, too! Human players have to defend the bridges for their lives! Infected players have to try and cross the bridges or use the secret passages to sneak up on the living. But there is a problem with infected-campers. You see, lots of players tend to camp on high places or ledges, or anything really (Please don't take offense to this, but it bothers me when I see players doing this. Besides, you should vote for this map because of the places you can camp on :stuck_out_tongue:). They usually stay in groups on places with only one entrance which will make it extremely difficult for the undead. In sure that if this map is to be published, players will group on the large fallen snow tree or the sniper-post tree. But hey, if you are one of those campers, this is quite an advantage!

    NOTICE-
    The bridges aren't the only way across. There are jump pads (sponges) in various places around the map.

    It looks very promising. I would like to see this added into War, as I think this is a quality build. Good luck mate.

    Looks a little small. Add a little extra island or two, and add more ways (Bridges) to get to the "Main" land. So far, great build!

    You clearly didn't read that the map also has those sponge launch pads, flub. There are a few of em so you wont always have to use bridges. Thanks for the compliment anyway! And ill think about more islands as well as another bridge.

    Now it looks better. Is there a way to get onto the helicopter?

    *Facepalm* this is the seventh person i have to tell that there are numerous launch pads. Don't you even bother to read the description?
    You can't actually get IN the helicopter but launch pads get you to land on the platform it's holding.

    You probably didn't even read the thread. He said there's launch pads that you can use to cross to the next island too. :banghead:

    Launch pads don't make a good map. They impede gameplay to the max. Imagine having players flying around between buildings at speeds so high you can't hit them at all (and even if you could, they would be invulnerable), and once they land they have 2 more seconds of invulnerability which they use to get back on the launch pad.

    Well this map doesn't have buildings and there's only a few launch pads. Besides, with all the players who are gonna use them at once, it will be hard for jumpers, too.

    Please don't post this stuff, if you were bothered to read he clearly stated there are sponge launch pads aswell.

    At first I thought no because I thought that the bridges were the only way across but if there are sponges then I think it would be awesome. Someone could just camp the bridges with iso if they were the only way. You got my vote, looks good.

    Just saying though, but it would be really hard to get to the other side and steal the flag and bring it back.

    well, there were jump pads all over the place but they don't make a such a good map anyway. I'm just going to make different changes to get across without them

    I actually really like how the map is different than so many others. I love that sponge jumping idea to get across too

    Yeah but the problem is: When you get on the sponge, you are launched too fast to get hit. Not to mention that you are given a high resistance perk for a few seconds so that you won't take damage from landing. So even if the enemy hits you, there won't be any damage taken from it, therefore making it overpowered.
