Some ideas for Team Caps/Restrictions.

So recently there has been a lot of discussion on whether team caps should be kept or not. In this thread I'm going to be voicing my opinion. While I would like to hear others opinions I do not want a flame war on this thread.

Personally, I think team caps are needed in order to stop outnumbers from increasing to huge numbers and everyone joining one team. If this were to happen there'd be less competition and raid would certainly be more boring.

However, currently. I believe team caps are not enforced strictly enough. Team caps are simply a small annoyance and as seen last map with Vanta/Meta, they are very easily bypassed. Not only this but it also allows many teams to truce up and ally together, this therefore does not solve the problem of large outnumbers.

Now that I have pointed out what I think is the problem, I am going to suggest a few ideas that should hopefully fix this.

Banning allying:
One way to fix team caps is by either banning allying or adding a 1 ally rule. If members from different teams are seen allying together to kill, raid or track together, they should be banned for a week. While this may seem harsh, I believe that it would increase competition from teams and more large, fair team fights will happen.

Adding /team ally:
This would mean you could have another team that can help you. To add an ally you would have to request with /team ally. If you are caught allying with people not in your /team ally you should be banned for a week.

Increasing team caps:
Possibly one of the worst ideas in my opinion. This is mainly due to the fact that the higher the limit, it allows for a larger difference between players in 2 different teams. This means outnumbers would be larger. However, if the team cap was moved up to 12 or 15, this would mean that there could be a whole ban on allying. Currently though, at the moment, I do not believe there is a large enough player base for this as there would not be many filled teams.

The main reason I have made this thread is because I'm tired of watching people argue with no solutions to the issues they bring up. I would also like to see someone explain why team caps should be removed without flaming me or anyone else.

 

I'm not sure anyone likes being outnumbered massively. I mean you were complaining about a 3v1 at koth yet it's ok for you to outnumber people because it's vanta. Have a go at "shooting my points down". I'd like to see someone try rather than saying stuff without any good points.

 

However it wasn't a betrayal because you randomly potted up to kill us hence why we started killing you. It was never a 3v1 though. The fact that your only evidence is our "betrayal" is fairly funny and how you attack me just because my opinion differs to yours.

I don't really care about when you 4v1ed me because I asked you to jump me. I just didn't expect all of you to jump. Of course you would like team caps removed because it would allow you to outnumber even more.

You also stated that back when you started you could PvP without outnumbers and choose to fight. However like you've said many times, raid and survival PvP are very different. There is very rarely any large team fights hence why I will join in with a team fight whenever I can. This basically means I don't have the choice of when I get to fight because if I only chose to fight when it was even, I would barely ever PvP. The 3v3 with me, Jum and NLS Vs you ping and frost was the first even team fight I've had in a long time. Sadly you couldn't handle losing so you decided to ask Eil and others to help.

It's cool how you enjoy being outnumbered however the majority of the server doesn't. Every time at koth where if one of the teams outnumbered the opposition, the opposition would complain. I also remembered sometimes even speedcell and the rest of meta would complain if legacy truced up with other teams to outnumber us.

 

Would just like to say that I am completely against team caps the way it is. If you read the thread I would like team caps to be kept but allying bannable. Because currently, like you said they are pointless.
