Ok, so I really need my own PC, and I've saved up some money ($1k). With black friday coming up, I figured that it was time for me to at least get some parts. My friend chose these parts for me, and I'd like to hear you guys opinions on it. Anything that could be better?

essentially higher ghz, higher cache, higher number on cpu, more expensive = better cpu
higher number, better speed, looks nice, more expensive = better gpu

oh and also dont intel cpu(kabylake) tend to be better than ryzen

If you have peripherals and especially a screen, you'd be doing pretty good.

Here's a build for your enjoyment. However: you WILL have to build it yourself!

This is barebones. You may want to play around with it but remember this is in German prices, and you may not be able to get these parts in Sweden without hefty import tax (should you need to import them from outside the EU. Inside the EU, you're good  ).
Building your own PC is easy and a lot of fun, and is a lot cheaper than buying a finished PC.

Nice build, only one weakness: It needs an SSD.

The Ryzen 5 1400's clock speeds are a bit low for gaming - if you plan to overclock it, go ahead with it, but otherwise you might want to spend some additional money and go for a Ryzen 5 1500X.
If you do not plan to overclock it, you also won't need an additional CPU cooler - both Ryzen 5 1400 and 1500X come with a stock cooler. It isn't great, but it can keep the CPU cool enough to prevent thermal throttling.

You should also consider if you really need 16 GB RAM - it is very expensive right now and you can easily upgrade the RAM later when it is cheaper. Instead you could spend the money on a 256 GB SSD or a full ATX mainboard with 4 DIMM slots.

It has happened multiplie times that games I play on the PC i use now (with 8GB RAM) run out of memory, so I think that 16GB is needed tbh.

When did this start? Most games having 8GB is perfectly fine, however you shouldn't run into out of memory issues. Since you do have a tight budget and RAM prices are quite high, as @Lord_Roke stated above, I do not think getting 16GB is worth it because of the purpose of your PC and the "error" you are receiving.

A reason why you may be running into that though is associated with Virtual Memory. When virtual memory runs out, it is because it has been turned off or set too low. To fix this, go to Control Panel and then 'System'. Once you are in 'System', there should be a tab at the side called 'Advanced System Settings': go in there. After that, click 'settings' under the 'Performance' section and it should open up another window. In that new window, click on 'change' under the 'Virtual Memory' section and it should open another window.

Now, make sure you do this part correctly. In the new window, make sure 'automatically manage paging file size for all drives' is unchecked, in order to change the values underneath. After, press 'custom size'. At the bottom of the window, you should see 3 values with 'minimum allowed', 'recommended' and 'currently allocated' next to them. In the 'maximum size (MB)' box, type the 'recommended value' in there. In the 'initial size (MB)' box, type the recommended value - (subtract) 1 number in there. For example, if the recommended value was 2400, you would put 2399 in the 'initial size (MB)' box. After that, press 'set' and then 'ok'. You may have to reboot your PC after completing all of that.

This should hopefully fix the 'out of memory' issue in games.

As @Lord_Roke you need an SSD and have windows downloaded on that SSD. Its basically lifechanging.
I'd recommend an intel core i5 over the AMD Cpu you put because the i5 is faster I believe.
    Otherwise its a good build
