History with Ceyll!

A bit of British History!!!

Until the middle Pleistocene, Britain was a peninsula of Europe, connected by the massive chalk Weald–Artois Anticline across the Straits of Dover (Present day the sea inbetween Britain and Norway) . Britain was first explored by a Greek explorer Pytheas in 325 B.C, Britain was mostly settled by the Celts, or Brythons they're called and were called Anglo, because why not! They were but was only settled by the Germanic people after the Romans lost influence in England. the Saxons they're from present day Northern Germany, a bit of the Netherlands, and Denmark. They're called the "Anglo Saxons", because Anglo are people from England, and Saxons were the Germans who explored and settled it.

Throughout British History, those two things the Celtic parts of the British Isles and the Anglo Saxon parts have been fighting, and things like the Protestant Reformation spitted them further apart because the English Catholics and the Protestant Ireland and Scotland often made them enemies. Eventually though, England annexed Ireland in 1691, and a little after that the English and Scottish crown intertwined and then they became the nation of Great Britain. yay boom done with a little history
