People won't play on Brawl unless they A. Know that Brawl exists B. All of their favorite mini-game servers die. Players tend to be more loyal to the first few quality (I use the term loosely) servers that they play on, so Brawl just needs to find a way to push itself past all of the irritating servers.

Perhaps it would be useful to compile a list of "Why Brawl" reasons (A list of reasons why Brawl is superior or offers more than other servers), and if you can't come up with a list of reasons why Brawl is better than these other servers then Brawl is not better, and players will not be inclined to join.

Small correction, but it's (I believe) 74 million people playing Minecraft monthly on every platform, not only Java! Java edition was sold for (rough estimation) 25 million copies...

 

We're too old fashioned imo. Our gamemodes haven't really changed enough to fit how MC has changed, and the good ideas had are usually wayyy too late (slither, BR). Modern changes can be made to the existing servers to bring them close up to speed, but a total server wide revamp should be done imo to appeal to the increasing younger players of MC.

 

There's a few reasons, mainly boiling down to lower player attention spans. Build and Party thrive because there's no commitment required, whereas most of the other servers consist of players who've been around for years, and who will eventually leave.

My personal solution would be to invest in more low-commitment gamemodes, and to let the older ones die naturally. Mariokart, Roleplay servers, Paintball, Trouble in Terrorist Town: they're all examples of games that could work really well, even with low player counts.

We don't have many players, so making gamemodes that require lots of players clearly won't work.

(Also, CTF is based on TF2).

If I wasn't already a brawl player( using very loosely, hardly ever play) there would be no way I would start playing on the network, people like to play on servers that are heavily populated and Brawl doesn't offer anything that bigger servers don't.
