Reduce the X-ray ban?

From my experience moderating, there are very few players who stop xraying entirely after you unban them / use another account. Xraying follows the same principles of hacking, and I don't think this would be a good approach for player retention. If they hack, they should get banned, it shouldn't matter if it is commonly done.

I do agree that they shouldn't keep what they have xrayed, but its hard in some cases because if you kill them and the ban turns out to be false it causes issues. However, if things are obvious enough I don't see this as an issue personally.

 

Eh, no. Personally the small amount of returners isn‘t worth the hassle of people who promise to stop and then X-Ray immediately.

Using X-ray is having an unfair advantage, illegal modification, and possibly even an hacked client. I don’t think the time should be decreased, if a player wants to continue playing and will stop hacking then they are free to appeal and will (most likely) be unbanned. Items aren’t destroyed because there’s a potential of false bans, players buying unbans to come back to nothing (even the stuff they gained legitimately), and other issues that could potentially arise given the right circumstances.

 

Why the punishment should not be lowered has been discussed above, but here is why we do not remove their items:

• We could theoretically remove everything they did in the last months, but that would likely lag out the server, not work on items / resources they shared with other players and destroy everything they built (Imagine your team mate xrayed and suddenly half your base is gone and you suffocate in a wall).
• The ban could be false or they could buy an unban - un-doing a rollback is even harder.
• We can not quantify how much of their resources were gained through x-ray - a long-time player who only started x-raying would lose everything, including the legit items. Alright, it is their own fault, but still quite harsh.

Resetting their balance is somewhat viable, but we would still have to save their pre-ban balance in case of a false ban/purchased unban and it is easy to evade by spending the balance or withdrawing the gold.

Yes, I agree because I got banned for Xray And than IP-Banned.. I've appealed 5 times saying I am sorry and I play legit now (Which I do) Brawl is way to strict.. :/ I agree

 

That’s what makes the server dead, banning people.
