When there are no lobbies online, the message that it shows when you try to connect should also contain info about connecting directly to the individual servers. Something like
"You can still connect to individual servers via this formula:
    [number] . [servername] . brawl . com
    (Example: 1.war.brawl.com)"

When lobby servers are down, people who don't know how to directly connect will just stop playing, and that kills the playerbase. If the message also told players how to directly connect to servers, then I think the decrease in players during lobby downtime wouldn't be as drastic as it is now.

I have suggested something similar numerous time in the staff chat. My suggestion went like this:
    • Under the ordinary “No Lobbies available” message, provide players with a link to the full list of all the direct IPs of each gamemode on forums (something which also has to be done)

Right now it already displays a custom message when you try to connect but there aren't any lobbies (it's "No lobby servers are available" as of now). Since Brawl already has a way to change the message , then this would in theory take no coding at all. I assume an admin or a dev could just find the message and re-write it.

Instead of a message when disconnected, we could direct them to out most popular server CURRENTLY at the period of time they join and provide a message in-game "Troubles connecting to our lobbies? Visit here: (thread link for all direct IPs)."

That would be a good way to fix the issue as well, since players can't click on links provided in the disconnect message (as far as I know). If they are redirected to a server and then given the message in-game, then they can click on it and it makes it easier to find direct IPs

That's pretty much what I suggested, also the first idea seems useful.
