Brawl Junior Moderator Application​

(Just a quick disclaimer, this application is for Capture the Flag JMod, but I indent to move to the Hardcore Games if I were to become a full moderator. I understand that HG apps are closed because it is not currently possible to complete your trial phase on the gamemode, but I have every intention to help out both gamemodes.)

What is your in-game name? - aefrogdog
Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? - My account is migrated and I am the only one with access to it and I intend to keep it that way.

How old are you? - 20
What time zone are you in? - Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - No.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - I started playing MCPvP in 2012 and fell in love with CTF and HG. Over the years I have helped find and fix many bugs for the gamemodes. At one point in time, I grew an HG YouTube channel to 2,000 subscribers uploading content regularly on MCPvP. I am currently a co-owner on a CTF team known as Annihilation, and I currently represent them in the CTF rep chat. I am also very knowledgeable with general minecraft mechanics such as command blocks. I am also actively learning how to work with different minecraft plugins such as terrain control.
What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I don't have much moderating experience but I have been around many staff members for a while. Because of this, I am familiar with many of the commands that a staff member would have access to.
Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? - As a staff member, I would be able to more directly contribute to bug testing and things of the sort. This would also allow me to bring my ideas directly to the plate instead of having to use a liaison to do so.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Yes, I have used a hacked client before to become more familiar with cheats to make myself better at detecting them. I have never cheated on MCPvP or Brawl before.
Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? - I have never been punished on any public minecraft server before aside from joke kick / bans.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - My knowledge of the game. Playing the game for so long has helped me learn things that the average player would not know, such as the fix to the flag hitbox I found on CTF a while ago.
What do you consider your greatest weakness? - Oftentimes I am too reserved, however I am working on this and I do not believe this would have an impact on my position at Brawl if I were to be accepted.
Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? - I am most active on CTF, but if HG were to have players, it would no doubt be my main server like it used to be. I intend to remain active on both of these servers.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - This is my first staff application.
What is the date of the last application you submitted? - This is my first staff application.

Anything else you would like to state? - I used to be part of the MCCTF stream team on MCPvP as a streamer, and I'm currently part of the CTF Match Spotlight team as a streamer and commentator. I can also record at a very high resolution and upload videos often to my channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/MCAefrogdog). I upload mainly osu! content here, but I am willing to upload unlisted hacker reports during my trial phase.

A few people have mentioned that my forum activity is currently very low. I recognize that and will work on improving it. Thanks to those of you who brought that to my attention!

 

Recently I've been playing later at night due to my current schedule. During this time period, I don't generally see many staff members online which may account for some of the reason you don't personally see me in-game too often.

I actively participate in PPMs which I always talk in. Through playing in these, I've met and talked with a vast majority of the active players in the community. As I mentioned in my app, I am also part of the Capture The Flag Match Spotlight team where I am a somewhat active commentator / streamer. These broadcast usually pull in 40+ live viewers and 300+ viewers per video which has helped me start to come out of my shell and become more open to talking people I am not familiar with. Despite it being a weakness, I am currently at a point where I don't foresee it having a major impact on my role as a staff member if I were to be accepted.

I'm aware I should have had more forum activity in the first place, but I am actively working on improving that. Despite my lack of forum posts, I have made many contributions to the server that go somewhat unseen. These contributions include bug testing for the EMP update, brainstorming for fixes for the bugs, plugin work (such as TerrainControl for the Christmas and Easter event for HG), etc. (I can provide more examples if asked).

Back in MCPvP, there was a massive staff application hacker exam where I was one of seven people to get a near perfect score. The others are as follows: MattM1PVP, Andrwe, SoCool21, Doges, Miskey, and Viva. I am aware that hacks have changed significantly since then, however, on multiple occasions I have tested out newer clients on my server to work on improving my knowledge on newer and more discrete cheats. If needed, I could provide a list of cheats I am familiar with.

Oftentimes when I am in-game late at night, I see players violating chat rules. At this time, I rarely see a staff member online, so as JMod I could fill the gap and warn those players accordingly. Due to the nature of the work I've done in the past for the server (Bug fixes, plugin work, etc.), having a direct line of communication to all the members of the staff team would greatly improve the efficiency of the aforementioned work that I've been doing.
