Ok, so a while back I had a suggestion for a tutorial system as well as a mentor system. I dropped the mentor system because it's extremely complicated and any new player can just ask another player, especially a player with a rank, for help or for a quick guide, but the idea of a tutorial system stuck with me.

    • Essentially, it consists of a quick guide into how HG works, with links to reading material on the wiki (hint hint), update and event announcements, and other stuff. Completing the tutorial would gift the player who completes the tutorial a special item, either any kit in the game completely for free or a "noob boost" of some kind. Now, obviously people are going to try and abuse this, but hear me out - firstly, if your IP registers as having completed a tutorial already, then you won't be able to do it again if you already completed it once, even on a different account. This tutorial would entail some snooping into mechanics (such as how soup works and how it can be crafted, what the Feast is, what the Pit is), taking a peek at the various kit classes, and taking a look at what kind of strategy you as a new and inexperienced player can pick.
    • Additionally - an achievement system. The achievement system would work in several categories:
    1. Kills - get a certain number of kills in total, first kill ever, first blood, win a game with 10+ kills, win a game with 20+ kills, win a game with 30+ kills, win a game without any kills, get 2 kills within 10 seconds of each other, get a multikill of some sort (Stomper, Tank, Launcher trap, explosives, Digger/Jackhammer trap, whatever), get a kill on a player with any non-damaging item (blocks, seeds, hoes, etc.)
    2. Wins - get a certain number of wins, get a certain number of wins in a row, get a certain number of wins with a kit from each kit class, win a game on kills
    3. Kits - use a certain kit's special ability 1/10/100/1000 times, use a kit ability to kill another player, use your kit ability to stop yourself from dying of fall damage 10 times, etc.
    4. Specials - bake a cake, kill somebody with a falling anvil, craft an enchanting table, get a level 30 enchantment on any item, just random fun stuff
    Early thoughts as always
