    Hello

So 2 days ago I started to get extreme game lagg. My FPS dropped rapidly to 1,2,3 fps and as im sure those of you who have using an regular everyday laptop know that just 30 fps is really bad.

Sometiems on the Raid server i stand still and I get 40-60 but if i move or turn a little bit it drops all the way down to 1.

My computer has had issues for a while now but it has never been this bad.

At the moment Minecraft is using 60% of my CPU 25% of my RAM and my GPU is at 20-35%

PC Specs are Intel core i5 with 8 gb RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 840m
I have optifine and use Labymod 3.3

    Today i ran

    A Disk defragmentation
    A Disk clean up
    An anti virus scan
An adware cleanup tool (for junk adware and general optimsation)

While the disk clean up helps in general. i knew non of these would help towards my gameing issue but i did them anyway.

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Um is it sudden or gradual?

Also remove and reinstall mods for Minecraft if you have them. I have slowness if Internet Explorer is running while Minecraft is running, I need to shut it off. If you are running Steam, try running Minecraft without it.

It's possible that your internet is causing the issue, as occasionally when my internet fails, it causes fps drops (I have no idea why internet would effect my FPS, but whatever)

Or, you have multiple things running. You could have a virus, windows defender is dog****, so i'd recomment malwarebytes, it's free and catches pretty much everything.

If none of this works, I'd suggest removing labymod, though I don't know if that'd do anything. Forge not being updated could be an issue, depending on your version

Lastly, you may have toasted your cpu, which can happen with laptops. Hope this helped, if it didn't and you have more information for me, feel freee to reply, convo me or dm me on disc at Sorix#6341

Try updating your computer (windows update and brand-specific updates)

Seeing that you got it four years ago, and it is borrowed and a laptop (laptops fry easier than desktops due to all the compartments being so close together) my guess would be that you burnt something, do you leave your Laptop on for a long period of time or overnight sometimes?

It's possible the install broke. Uninstall and reinstall the game before you buy any new hardware.

That was my thought too, but he said it happened all of a sudden, and as far as I know I didn't think it would change anything, then.

Over time Windows will become slower due to the fact it uses unnecessary hardware like CPU and RAM and sometimes video I would reinstall Windows

(Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC > Click "Get Started") Follow the prompts CAREFULLY, If you choose to clearn the entire Hard Drive it will take up to 2-4 hours depending on how much stuff you have and how many drives you have installed. thats my advise for you

Alternatively you can go to Windows Defender and click the little heart on the left its called Device Performance & Health and you can start Fresh it will erase everything on your laptop you will need to install drivers get them from your manufactures website.

This is a pretty late answer but I have a couple tips, 1. Make sure your pc’s fan is working perfectly one thing that may cost severe FPS drops is lack of ventilation. Next even tho it maybe expensive it seems like you need a new CPU/*Computer Power Unit* because if it’s running 20-30 FPS as you claim I think you might need a better one for playing video games such as Minecraft I reccomend upgrading to a desktop pc rather then a laptop because they run way faster then a laptop also don’t forget to check for any trash files that are hidden in your pc, You can use Ccleaner to scan/remove any of those said unneeded trash files. Try those things if they problem persists feel free to let me know so I can help you further with your problem. -AirstrikeXD
