    They're only temporarily disabled in the hub. You can still have them on CTF etc.

    I can't figure out how to use them in CTF, but maybe i'm just being stupid

    You can spawn in your pet during the pre/post game stage and while being in spawn.

    Once selected and spawned, they will appear while you are in spawn or the game is not in progress
