Congrats to Chickenputty for getting top gold in Map 4!

Hey guys-

After holding the top spot for gold pretty much the entire map, it is my honor to share with you that I am not the top balance at the very end, and the top balance goes to Chickenputty.


So now I need to answer the question as to how Chickenputty got 45k gold in the last 24 hours. Actually, there's a pretty simple answer.

At the very beginning of the map, Chickenputty posted numerous enchanted diamond armor pieces for insane prices. Anyone who bought diamond armor from the shop probably noticed the armor slowly being sold from the shop - leggings, helmet, boots - until there was one final piece left: A prot 4 dia chestplate for 50,000 gold. Since I heard that the map was resetting, and I was within 10k gold of buying this, I made it a goal to get to 50k gold and buy it. It undoubtedly was the most fabulous object on the map...

I then went on an XP grinding orgy in the last few weeks, trading thousands of times with villagers, killing pigs at spawn, and enchanting and selling books and sets. My efforts paid off, and late on Friday night I surpassed 50,000 gold, promptly bought the chestplate and renamed it...


I want to say that I did this as a meme goal, and that's partly true. But in retrospect I was very disappointed by this map, and wanted to make Chickenputty the 'winner' out of frustration. I was disappointed by the lack of KOTH implementation out of the box, the (VERY) broken enchanting mechanism, the removal of The End and unimplemented end fight, as well as other glitches (boats not working, invisible mobs, etc). I was also saddened about the continual dwindling of players as there were far fewer bases and loot this map, and many times I would log on and be the only one playing. My point here though is that for Raid to survive it needs to make the experience enjoyable, fix broken gameplay, and ensure that the community has a good PVP and PVE experience, and I hope the map reset will accomplish that.
