    Seeing as hackers can be an issue and the autoban system gets them pretty well at times and staff aren't always on or ones that are on can't do as much or are to late to punish. I would like to purpose that since we already have 3+ bans makes them an ip banned player. How about we make 3+ Auto bans, temp ban their ip for roughly 12 hours and lower the auto ban to 6 hours. The main reason I thought this could help was because I recently had this happen to me on munchy (No I don't cheat) and the system would keep those cheaters that come back on alt after alt would lower them and stop them from doing so as much.

    The main problem is how easy it is to change your IP. Most routers will let you change your IP by turning them off and on again, and if not most people will have access to a VPN which'll do it for them. Automating IP checks would be possible, but would be too much work for us right now.

    But it can make a slight difference, and that is the main idea of it. You are absolutely right that people have access to vpns and can change their ips but not everyone does.

    I agree that this is an issue that should be faced as often troll hackers will repeatedly ruin experiences for players by continuing to log in on alts. However something like the IP checks mentioned by SoCool would be more applicable I think than IP banning after 3 autobans. I say this as most CTF regulars (only saying CTF as that’s what I play) have had multiple false autobans, even I’ve had one and I’m trash. By implementing this system it potentially could damage the community already built as these regulars get banned for an extended period of time due to lag or setting off the autoban system when they aren’t hacking.

    It's possible to get around this, but you're right it is a lot of work. I don't have much experience with it but I would definitely be willing to help out with it and look into it, I'm pretty quick with picking up computer stuff.

    That only changes your dynamic IP, not your static IP. There are ways to change your dynamic IP though by calling your ISP and having them do it for you, or a number of other ways that are much simpler (proxy/VPN), although those are much easier to block as well.
