    Hello all,

    MinecraftParty has recently been attracting the attention of multiple rather famous youtubers. I am of the opinion that their videos would look better and they would have a better time if my idea was implemented. In the hub, there should be a signs facing all four directions that says something along the lines of "Are you a youtuber? Click here". When they click there, the plugin automatically gets their IGN, goes to www.youtube.com/user/{PLAYER_IGN} and checks the amount of subscribers. If it is over 9000, It automatically gives them MVP, and (on war) unlocks all guns and perks for their use.

    One possible downfalls may be that players may make accounts that have the same name as non-minecraft youtubers (e.g. a player creates an account named nigahiga and gets free MVP).

    I am sure this could possibly be coded but it is to risky like you said. I think this would be useful but unfortunately would be dangerous. Also, not all youtubers have the same youtube account name as their ign. Anyways, seems like a good idea if there was a way to fix the flaws.

    Why not give VIP to a list of potential youtubers and make so when they join they get a message like: "Welcome to MinecraftParty, you got the rank VIP for being a famous youtuber. We hope you enjoy your stay and maybe make a video!"
    This would surely give them a comfortable feel in the server, and maybe would persuade them to make a video.

    I'm afraid many people would do like you said. BUT, why go through the trouble? Minecraft costs around $28 now. Why pay the extra money, when you could spend the cheaper $10? Although it would be for life :V
    This may be a valid solution. Having a preset YouTuber list would fix the problem.

    The problem is, most Youtubers have a different IGN than their channel.
    If we could somehow code certain IGNs to be given donator stuff at log-in, that could do the job.
    But that may be too much work.

    Thing is, SkyDoesMinecraft's IGN isn't the same as his YouTube channel. And there are some others who have IGNs other than their Youtube usernames.

    Everyone knows the ign of the biggest youtubers. We could also just watch their videos if we are not sure...

    How about this solution: We get a list of all the famous YouTubers that we feel should have free VIP/MVP. Then, we get a list of all their IGNs (this can usually be found from their YouTube channel). We then implement a plugin that, when a famous YouTuber on the list logs on, it sends them a message saying "Hello <name>! You have been given free MVP on all of the McBrawl servers for being a famous YouTuber, in order to help assist you with making videos on out servers!" They will then be ranked to MVP. Let me know if you see any flaws :wink:

    As for it maybe being too much work, I'm sure it would be easy with a team of Members working together. I would love to help, myself. :smile:

    Wait, I just realized something.
    IT'S OVER 9000!!!
    But why 9000? Why not a different more generic number like 5000 or 10000 or something similar?

    Either way, this idea may be hard to implement for some of the smaller YouTubers with about 100000 subs or so that we don't know too well.

    Many of those youtubers with different INGs have their IGN as a tag in their videos, so it will pop up anyways.

    Well balls I am on youtube but only have at most 10 subs. However, I have been growing recently and only one of my subs I know! S by my definition, I'm doing great. But I won't get the bonus. And btw, how many you tubers with over 9000 subscribers play on the server and would care if they got all that stuff? I mean Jerome played here once, but... ONCE. How many other times will he play here and will he actually want all that? But good idea but like so far everyone has said, it need minor changes, but could work out great.

    We already have a big 'ol list of YouTubers that automatically get VIP. The list took forever to get :wink:.

    However, to catch the smaller YouTubers I thought we could have a system that you do "/youtube {channel_name} (or link)" and if the channel has over X amount of subscribers it emails us with their IGN and YouTube link so we can confirm that its actually them. It would limit out the people with low subscribers and the manual part would limit out liers.

    D3 already made a script to check their amount of subscribers from any type of YouTube link, even if they submit their YouTube UUID.

    How could you deal with everyone trying out the command and spamming you with emails? One possible way is to iterate over the list of videos with tag "minecraft" and check if their creators have x subs. This could help us catch the smaller youtubers with their account name as their ign, as well as solve the problem of non-minecraft YouTube names.

    It's a good concept but isn't an effective way to give them it... I think that we should just get a "Youtube Scout" who goes on the servers constantly giving youtubers ranks. It might not be accurate, but it't the best way.

    Have it email once? And good luck grabbing all YouTubers that have tagged their video with Minecraft and parsing out all their sub numbers.
