As many of you may know, we are advised to not offend the person making an application but we can give "constructive criticism". Here are some steps on how to do that properly, fairly, and maturely.
    If The thread is GOOD:
This is probably the easiest. Just say good job or something helpful and give them a +1. However, that may be unfair if the person is your friend and you just want to say that. If you truly liked the application list the reasons why and THEN give a +1 to the person applying.
    If the thread id OK/NEUTRAL:
If the application is okay/neutral, you might have to take a different approach. First of all, list the reasons why the application is good. Then list the reasons why the application could be better in the politest manner possible. Many people fail at that. Finally, give them a +0 and don't vote at all.
If the thread is "COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE":
This is where most people go wrong. Start off by looking carefully at the application, the member's posts, and gather as much evidence as you can. DO NOT give your opinion when stating that the application was bad, let the facts and numbers do all the talking. List them all and try not to make the person offended by cursing or making them feel horrible. If you can't get yourself to do that to another human being, and if they are new and the app is short, just say SNN -1.
I hope this helped you guys have an idea of what to do in these situations. Have a nice day. P.S: They made me select a prefix, I had no other option.

Posting these type of threads on staff applications are not allowed. If you wish to post these things, get permission from a high rank such as chickenputty, orange451, Chaploo, etc. If you don't have permission, this section is meant only for actual staff applications. Don't do this again.

The problem with giving the SNN though is that you're a target for those ding-dongs that'll give you a dislike though. :V

With "already did" I meant I already requested. Only Global mods can move threads and only Admins can interact with posts (lock/move) in the Staff Applications subforum. I can't do anything, sorry :/
