WarZ Winter Season 2020

Hey Zombies, we're back!

Throughout the past couple weeks we have been compiling feedback about the current state of WarZ and have came to some conclusions. We need change! After listening to multiple responses on our community survey, we have decided to move ahead with changing WarZ back to what it was while continuously trying to better the game mode off of changes that you guys want!

WarZ Winter 2020 Season

As we come to the end of fall and soon will fall into the Winter season, we have decided it's time to bring back the Winter spirit and kick off the WarZ Winter 2020 Season!

How is it going to work?

On December 1st, we will start the day off by resetting everyone's stats. We will be taking into account many factors when deciding the season MVP including kills, deaths, KDR, and ELO. It will be a race to the top with the winner getting exclusive prizes only available to them including a tag for being the winners of the season! The season will be 3 months long so everyone has time to grind. If we need to change the length we can easily look into it in the future.

What do I get from being a winner?

1st place: Seasons worth of ELITE
2nd place: Seasons worth of MVP
3rd place: Seasons worth of VIP

WarZ Montage Contest

From the start of the season to the end, we will be hosting a competition for who uploads the best quality and edited montage from that season. We are moving away from the traditional clip contest for now and may host a random pop up weekly clip event for a chance to be featured on the Brawl YouTube! Make sure you're clipping every full diamond kill cause you never know when you can pop off and end up having the best clip on WarZ!

Updates

• Winter Map: With the seasons update, we will be bringing back the Christmas map back to servers 1 and 2! This map includes the loved Winter Wonderland town that can be accessed to the West of Nether or North of Mines.

• Horses: After multiple attempts to try to rework horses, we have came to the conclusion that it is better to remove the horse system overall and revert to what it previously was. We will be keeping the buffed spawn rate of horses to make sure that they are not completely thrown out the window and are still usable! We will be keeping some of the changes to the horses, as usual you won't be able to shoot on the horse as we don't want to bring back horse pvp.

• Bug Fixes: Along side the updates we will be pushing out, we are going to be investing some time into fixing some common bugs. Including the Logger ELO Miscalculation that makes a logger gain ELO after being killed, and the player who killed it losing ELO.

• More Events: We are constantly hosting events everyday for our community and will continue to do so. Be on the look out in our Discord #announcement channel for pop up events whenever you're around! We'd love to have you as we give out prizes to the winners a lot of the time.

• Sub Lobby Change: We will be reverting the sublobby changes that we had initially put in place. We're going to make it similar to how CTF works, it will teleport you to another lobby once you have selected WarZ. Every server will have their individual spawns from now on exactly how it used to be before.

• Eating Particles: Instead of removing the particles, we will be reducing the amount on your screen to allow you to see more while still having the particles around. If needed to change, we will reconsider this decision in the future.

• Death Animation: We are aware of an issue regarding the death animation and are looking towards fixing it. The animation will either get fixed or removed in the near future.

• NPC Removal: We will be removing the NPC's from the spawns. We will reconsider this decision in the future and might possibly rework the armor forger for better use. At the moment, we will be removing them.

• WarZ 20: We will be bring up WarZ 20 once again! We will try to open it as soon as possible. Be on the look out in the future for updates regarding our practice server!

Community Polling

As we try to better transparency with the staff team and player base, we will be conducting community polling inside of our Discord server and in-game. We will constantly be asking for feedback throughout the process of updates to ensure everyone is satisfied with the changes that will happen. Polls in-game will be conducted way more often than before with almost every change that occurs. We hope to be able to allow our community to know what's going on with the server and have a say in it. We are here to shape WarZ for the better together!

BLC (Badlion Client) Restriction Protocol

What is this?

As many of you are aware, there are hacked clients out there that allow people to hack with very acute adjustments to their game to give them just enough advantage without being blatantly obvious. That is why the Brawl Staff Team is glad to announce a new addition to our protocol when it comes to approaching these situations...... BLC Restriction. We can now restrict a player to only be able to join Brawl's servers if they are using the Badlion Client. This can not only be used on specific players, but on entire servers as well.

How and when does this happen?

Here is a quick rundown; When a player has a large amount of suspicion, recordings and allegations against them, the staff team will review it all come to a decision on whether or not they believe the player is using a ghost client. If and when it is decided that they are using or may be using a ghost client, the staff will enact this new protocol and restrict that player's main account to BLC and all other alternate/linked accounts would be permanently banned for extra measure. This restriction will last for as short as 1 month but it could be longer based on the situation.

Why make this change?

We know that it is tricky to figure out if someone is using a ghost client with no doubt, they are made to be very hard to track. Implementing this new rule allows for us to have a better way to handle these sticky situations and try to avoid those few false permanent bans that may inevitably happen.

Q: I was restricted to BLC, but I want to play on one of my alternate accounts. What do I do?
A: You can create an appeal on the forums and list the account you wish to play on. Any alt account will also have to use BLC though

Q: What is Badlion Client? Why am I restricted to this client in particular?
A: Badlion Client is an all in one Minecraft launcher with built in client anticheat, FPS improvements, mods, and much more. While there are other clients, this client has a built in anticheat which makes it nearly impossible to cheat while using it.

Cross Teaming Protocol Update

Starting on November 16th, at 10PM EST, the cross-teaming protocol will undergo a change. Players will no longer be able to seemingly "hop" between accounts during fights. Logging onto any different account (with the intent of fighting) other than the one you start with within 5 minutes of your other accounts death will result in a punishment equal to cross-teaming. This will be enforced even if you have less than 5 players in a team.

The goal is to eliminate the unfair advantage that comes with logging into new accounts throughout a fight, allowing players to at least gather themselves in the 5 minute period they are allowed. Simply using accounts as storage alts or tp alts will not warrant a punishment.

As we move along in the coming months we will try our best to make the game enjoyable for everyone this time around and will try to do everything the right way.
