I have noticed that on a lot of pvp servers in general, people tend to rage about unfairness in their fight. Let me make a few things clear about what's fair and what's not. There are two kinds of pvp fights: When you ask someone to 1v1(This includes 2v2s, 3v3s, etc.) and when you fight someone without asking.
    - When you ask someone to 1v1: You have certain rules, rules like no one else on either team is allowed to help in the fight. Other rules may include rules specified by either player. But the most important one is that both players agreed to fight one another.
    - When you fight someone without asking(Guerrilla Warfare): These rules go away. Anyone can become involved. No complaining that "it was a 2v1", especially if you were the one that attacked first. An example would be yesterday, when members of my own team (myself and Infinite_Galaxy) were fighting members of OG. They ended up bringing a third member to fight us. It was a smart decision because they ended up beating us. We did not complain, nor did anyone agree to fight. If you encounter a hacker in pvp, its better report them than to scream at them, even better if you have proof.

More factors are armor, swords and strength potions. The same rule applies. Don't expect a fair fight unless you specify which gear you are allowed to use. If you 1v1 someone and they use a fire sword, or something that you don't have, good job for them, because it's not against the rules. (Obviously server rules like no hacking still apply.)

This thread is for people who have comments about PvP Etiquette in general, if you want to say something about 2v1's, strength pots(which have been nerfed on the server recently), hacking or other powerful gear being used during pvp.

I like it, if followed & enforced it will be good, but will it be followed? That's the question...

If someone violates the rules of a 1v1, their reputation will go down. Eventually everyone will know not to trust them.

It's a respect thing. If people show bad etiquette, then everyone else will avoid them. If you always go back on a 1v1, or use stuff other than the allowed equipment, people don't respect you.

    A really important rule:
Don't break a Truce without telling the truced team!!!!

This happened to me today, we were truced with OG, but Brian_Coffey attacked me. Later he said they're Message of they day was, that we arent truced anymore. BUT no1 told us!
So I were really raging after this, and this should definitely be added.
One more point: If you make a 1v1, ask the enemy is he is ready before you attack!

There is Team A and Team B. They are truced, but Team B wants to break the truce. The members of Team B tell a couple members of Team A that they want to break the truce. The problem is, one member of Team A wasn't alerted, so they are killed by Team B. I find this is a common problem, any suggestions?

If a team tells members of the other team that they break the truce, they should add signs in base, change the MOTD or post something in skype group.

Well at least in my experience. They've gone back on 1v1s more than once against me alone.

Thanks for implying that OG was smart :V

Anyway, good tips, and I'll definitely link this to people when they need it

    Great job on the thread!
Unfortunately, I've seen players that will rage when players they thought they were truced with kill them. Lesson is: Never trust anyone, but your team. That's why they're there.

Nice guide, some people really need to learn the difference between the two.
I was on the server earlier, and a guy challenged me to a full iron 1v1. When we left spawn, as I was counting down to start, he attacked me. Luckily for me I had soups on my hotbar, and I healed up then managed to kill him, but honestly.

I feel like this guide would be really useful to me if I could actually play the server, but its useful to others and that's really great. This guide will definitely help a lot of people, thank you for it!

Lol, I've already learned my lesson for not specifying rules. I challenged a guy to a 1v1 and he used enchanted gear and potions. Let's just say that it didn't work out too well for me...
