Multiplayer Servers Mod Application:


Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? –

-I am on the forums a lot during the day. Sometimes it is hard to be active on the forums because of school. But I still try to be on the forums for at least two hours a day. When I am on the forums, I try to be as helpful as I can be. It kind of annoys me that in “Q&A” a normal member cannot post in there. I have seen at least 20 questions that I knew the answer of.

-I consider myself as “active” on the servers. I have been with the community for a whole year now! When PvP.McBrawl.com was first created, I did not think much of the server. Now I realize all of the possibilities of bases, raiding, and PvP! At the moment, I am a very active member of Team MAGIC. Though a few raids on us slowed us down, we still kept trying to be one of the best!

-My first couple of months here on the forums, I did not go on TeamSpeak very often. I used to use Skype. Now I try to be as active as I can on TeamSpeak! Just yesterday I was in a chat room for four hours with a group of people!


Which server are you applying for? –

I am applying for PvP.McBrawl.com, my new favorite server!


How old are you? –

I am 14 years old, which some people may consider “immature”. A lot of my family calls me “mature for my age”.


What time zone are you in? –

I am in the Eastern Time zone. I live in Upper Michigan!


What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? –

I bought Minecraft in June of 2012 and I have played and loved the game ever since. I started off in singleplayer to understand how the game worked. Then I did some building in creative and then I started to do some adventure maps. It only took a few months for me to find the Multiplayer button! I started out on McPvP, and then I found this amazing community!

I now know almost all of the crafting recipes! (This comes in handy when I’m on PvP and someone asks me how to craft something!) That one item that I can never remember is powered rails. I know there is gold, redstone torches, and iron. (First world problems!)


What is your experience with moderating servers? –

I was moderator/admin on a server called Chalex. Chalex was the very first public 1.6 snapshot server. I was on the server so much that the owner (chipchipchippy) gave me moderator/admin without me even applying! I dealt with a lot of spammers and griefers. Some guy even accused me of griefing! I don’t grief, I never have at all in my life. The only thing that people could consider as griefing that I do is raiding bases.


After about 2 months of constantly updating the server, we ran out of money to keep the server running. After saying my goodbyes, I decided to come back to MultiplayerServers.com; the old McBrawl.


What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? –

I will provide a better environment for players in game. I would also stop the spam in the chat. AndyinaBEARsuit is a very big inspiration for me because I have learned a lot from him. He answers questions, gives warnings, and interacts with people in chat and in TeamSpeak.

One thing that we as a community need to watch out for is X-rayers. This is a problem on almost every server. It gives you a HUGE advantage over the rest of the server. One thing that I know is that a stripmine is just a tunnel going straight. If you find a tunnel going in random directions, this is an X-ray tunnel. If you find someone doing this, you should report this to an admin to have them check out the situation.


I’m going to rate myself on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 is low activity, 10 is the highest amount of activity.


How active do you consider yourself in-game? –

On a scale of 1 to 10; 9. I try to be as active as I can. When I’m online, I try to be on TeamSpeak at the same time.


How active do you consider yourself on TS3? –

On a scale of 1 to 10; 7. Until recently, my parents were very strict about talking to people I don’t know online. Some days my parents allow me to go on, some days they don’t. Whenever I play in game, I try to get on TeamSpeak. I have tried to be more active on TeamSpeak so I could get a better chance at getting the moderator position, and also to get to know my teammates a lot more.


How active do you consider yourself on the forums? –

On a scale of 1 to 10; 9. I know that a lot of people have noticed that I have become not as active as I was before. This is because of school, Boy Scouts, and family matters. I am just getting back into my rhythm of posting a lot every day!


What do you consider your greatest strength? –

My greatest strength is that I am connected to the community through the forums. I learn a lot about my friends, and I learn a lot about the servers in general.


What do you consider your greatest weakness? –

My greatest weakness is peer-pressure. I know that many people have this weakness, but I have it more than other people. I also trust people too much. Sometimes in school I can trust someone and then they stab me in the back. This is why I am trustworthy.


How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? –

If a person is swearing excessively, I would give the person a warning in chat. If the person is spamming, I would only warn the person once.


How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? –

If the person swears excessively again, I would give him/her one last warning. If the person spams again, I would give him/her a kick. I would also explain to them why I did it and I would tell them that if they did it again, it would be a tempban.


How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? –

If the player swears a bunch again, I would kick him and then explain why I did it. The player would probably just swear at me again. So then I would have to give him/her a short tempban. (30 minutes to an hour)

If the spammer spams again, I would explain to them why I have to tempban them, and then I would tempban them for an hour. I would hope they learned their lesson after that.


What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? –

I usually give them the “informative” rating. I would also tell them that I was wrong, and then I would thank them for the information. I try to not sound sarcastic because a person once said that they “didn’t know if I was being sarcastic or not”.


What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? –

I would tell the person what they did wrong, and not to do it again. A pretty big offence on the forums currently is grave-digging. I see it a lot. I usually tell them not to do it again, and I also report the post.

Spam threads are starting to get more common now. They are usually locked and taken care of in minutes.


When would you lock a thread? –

I would lock a thread if the creator requests it to be locked. I really don’t like when people post “requesting lock”. It is the staff’s choice if it needs to be locked or not.

I would also lock a thread if it is a spam thread, duplication thread, or a pointless thread. Like it says in the rules, “Don’t spam things like THE SERVERS DOWN”.

I usually stay away from flame wars. I even try to stop flame wars. If one occurs, I would lock it.

I am trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. (The Boy Scout Law, which I use in everyday life)


Anything else we should know about you? –

· I’m sure many of you know this; I am a very active Boy Scout. Boy Scouts have shaped me into the person I am today. I just recently achieved my Star Scout award; it was given to me by my scoutmaster. Three days later, he passed away due to a brain aneurism. It was a very tough time dealing with the loss of him. Coming online was the only place I could feel happy and not depressed. I had a lot of great times with him.

· In school I get straight A’s!

· I have never gotten a detention or a suspension in school! I am in eighth grade!

· I am also a deer hunter. I have shot 3 deer already. I hunt with a .30-06 rifle and my new crossbow. Many people do not like hunting and they call it “Killing innocent animals for no reason”. I agree that deer are innocent, but many people; such as me; use almost all of the deer. My family eats/gives away all the venison.

· On Mc-War, I started playing a year ago. I am only level 37!


Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? –

1. Ask the player how he/she got to the spot.

2. If the player doesn’t answer, look around the area. If the player answers, I would say “Thanks for reporting the glitch!” and then I would tell them that they could just type /war leave so they wouldn’t be in trouble.

3. Tell the player what he/she did wrong.

4. Kick the player.

5. If I find the way to get there, I would report it on the forums.


Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? –

Yes!


Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? –

Yes! I have seen it only a few times before where a mod would ban a person for no reason at all. There was a guy that I moderated with on Chalex that would ban people for killing him. He did that 4 or 5 times! I would never do that!
