Idea PvP Arena

That would be really cool. Though it would suck if it was just experienced players trouncing noobs with enchanted weapons. If one was to make a PvP arena it should at least be balanced. Such as enchanted weapons vs. enchanted weapons, etc. A group of us should get together and build one. Though if we did we'd have to have some sort of truce so we don't go around killing each other just for kicks while construction is under way.

A good sized PVP Arena would be about this big. Preference for the type of biome layout would be entirely customized to whatever setting everyone would like. Though I suggest a flat-ish terrain to make running and jumping easier.
This arena isn't quite finished yet, still have to make the Colosseum, but you get the gist of what I'm showing.

 

These fights should be controlled and respected otherwise there's just going to be a big fist fight which is not what we want for sure

 

That and the Admins should tell everyone not to destroy the arena. Cuz there would always be those jerks who would try and destroy it for kicks.
Also a few of the teams should get together for this to build it. It would also be best to leave all of the valuables at home except for the building blocks for the arena.

my opinion below..

PvP Arena should be:

•build by Admins
•protected
•have a general warp for everybody like
/PvP
•you should be abel to leave the arena by climbing a wall of ladders so it takes some time to escape.
•some lava,water and other stuff would be nice
•building disable in the arena but you can set it on fire

 

Setting it on fire would probably not be the best idea. Also if just the admins built it then it would be awhile till it would be completed. That's why I was suggesting some of us should build it and, like you said, have them protect the area and set a waypoint for everyone. Though having it as a mass waypoint would be a problem if the noobs warped there and just started another fist fight like usual.

 

why not the best idea if theres water somwhere and the arena is not made of netherrack but ok..

and admins dont have to build it alone in surival mode. they can also use a pvp arena that alteady exist or make a building submisson thread and let it build by a community member and then place with world edit on the server map.

 

You have a point. I can play around in creative some more. Anyone have any preferences to what they would like in the arena? Or how about we let everyone have a go with designing And let the masses and Admins decide which ones they like lol

Use the area that was the factions mob arena

 

McBrawl has very talented builders in its staff, they said that they built the hub in less than one day. And I know Mr_O does a lot of builds such as the spawn for mcParty and a lot of other things.
It would be best if the admins built it as they are experienced, they have special permissions, and they have easy contact over teamspeak. If players had to build it, they would have to do it legit, they may not have contact with each other and building would be hard to explain to each other by typing, and players could start arguments.
But I like the idea.

 

I'm not saying the admins aren't creative. I'm saying it would be nice to have us, the players, have a say in what it could look like. I already know that us building it would be hard that's why I said we can all play around in single player. Create a design we think is cool, take a screenshot, and post it on here.

I've been working on a map for this so far, some screenshots are found here for an older version and here for the newest version. However, it is still a W.I.P. If you actually decide to have a PvP Arena, just PM me and I'll finish it quickly.
