Hello everyone! I created this thread, because I've noticed many people have been making remixed packs, without properly crediting the owner of the assets they borrowed. And other things. Therefore, I thought this thread might be useful to those who want to publish resource packs.

    1. Pictures first, videos last.
Ever heard of the phrase "no pics, no clicks?" That means people prefer screenshots over videos, otherwise nothing at all. Viewers usually aren't patient enough to see a video - they prefer pictures instead. People who view your resource packs want to know how your resource pack will look like, so they are not wasting their time. Also, use screenshots as a chance to showcase all the neat features of your work! Pictures don't always have to be screenshots. For example, you can arrange the guns in this manner, like this example:
This gives viewers a clear representation of what some of the textures will look like. Images such as these can easily be made in simple photo editors, like Paint.NET and others.

    Uploading pictures:
A great site for image sharing is Imgur. Otherwise, you can click the "Upload a File" button found below.

    2. Credit, credit credit!
Do you like it if someone else used your work to gain benefit and popularity, without crediting you for doing the work? You answer is most likely no. That's why crediting others is important when you used assets that weren't yours.

Here are ways you can properly credit people.
    1. Mention the person's name, and the pack you borrowed the assets from.
    2. If possible, provide a link to that resource pack's webpage.
    3. If possible, try to seek permission if you can use their assets.
    Here's an example:

    Guns: Me, (someone's name)
Sounds: (resource pack name) by (someone's name)
(link to resource pack, if possible)

You don't have to specifically follow the above format, but as long as you get the general idea.

    3. Provide a download link!
Unless your'e just showing off your custom pack, make sure you have a download ready as soon as you decide to publish it. This might sound obvious, but some people can be careless and forget. The last thing you want is viewers spamming you, asking for a download link.

Don't know how to upload things to the internet?

If your'e in such a situation, don't freak out! A great site for file sharing is Mediafire, because it's more secure than other hosting sites. You can get an account and 10 gigabytes of storage for free.

    4. Update when necessary!

Alot of resource pack makers soon forget to complete or update their work. Don't let that happen! When someone reports a bug, try to fix it ASAP. This shows you actually care about your work.

    5. Get creative!

Try to impress the community with something unique, or something we haven't seen before. Use your imagination! We always encourage you to express your creativity.

    This, everyone look.

You have no idea how much this bugs me. So many people do it and name it as there own. all you have to do is type:
"(Sounds, art, texture, or sounds) by: [Name]. That is it, not that hard.

    I can respect this.
I know you have a planet minecraft page and in one of my videos I used your texture pack, I would have no problem linking your PMC page along with the texture pack on the video if you want. They get quite a few views. :3
