Overview
  • Logging In

After logging into Minecraft Build, these items will be found in the hotbar: a book, head, clock, emerald, and crafting table.

The Book is an expensive guide on what Build is and how it works. The help book is great for ingame tips along with looking up miscellaneous commands. This book can also be accessed by /help

The head allows players to join another player's map. Players will be teleported to other's map by clicking on the head of another online player. Unlike /tp <player>, players get teleported into the spawn of the map the player is in. To access this GUI outside of the Build lobby, right click the nether star at the ninth slot of the hotbar.

The clock allows players to find and join a map that you have either owner, manager, member or visitor permissions on. To access this GUI outside of the Build lobby, type in /map, or right click the nether star at the ninth slot of the hotbar. To learn more about what each permission is and what it does, check out our wiki subsection here.

The emerald allows players to create a new map. A new map can't be created if the player has reached the map slot limit! More information about map slots are found in the Ranks section of this page. To access this GUI outside of the Build lobby, type in /create, or right click the nether star at the ninth slot of the hotbar. More information about each map type is found in the Maps section of this page.

The crafting table allows players to apply cosmetic elements. This is exclusively for non-server specific VIP+ players. To access this GUI outside of the Build lobby, type in /cosmetics. Aliases include /cosm and /xcosm.

    Ranks

Ranks in MinecraftBuild allows players to have multiple map slots.

What are map slots? Players have a limited number of map slots. Map slots are the number of maps a player is able to have in total. If a player has 3 map slots, the player can create 3 maps to fill all the map slots. A player will not be able to create a new map if the limit is met. If the limit is met, simply archive a map or buy new map slots, so a map slot will be opened up, which will allow the players to create a new map.

Players who use a map on MinecraftBuild to create an accepted map for a gamemode will be given a new map.

Default Players receive 1 map slot.
VIP Players receive 2 map slots.
MVP Players receive 5 map slots.
ELITE Players receive 10 map slots.
BUILDER+ Players receive unlimited map slots.

Ask a JMOD+ to do /listmap to see how many maps you have. Extra map slots can be purchased from the
    Brawl Shop!
    Maps

    Map Names and IDs
Every map on MinecraftBuild has a name associated with it. Map names can be used to go to a map or find a map. To change a map's name, go to the map, click on the nether star. From there, click on the nametag, and then select "set map name". Type in the new map name into the chat. Only map owners can change their map's name.

To find out the name of a map, go to the certain map and either type in /mapinfo, or look at the scoreboard/sidebar.

When created, every map is given a unique ID (in numerical order). Maps are stored by ID in case any maps have the same name and can be used to teleport to maps whose names have spaces.

    Creating a Map

MinecraftBuild uses a map system to allow players to build. Maps are generated with a default size of 512 x 512 blocks and have four options, Void (Black Wool), Flat (Grass Block), Advanced Flat (Block of Redstone), and Special Maps (Block of Diamond). Maps can be created using the Emerald in your inventory upon login or by typing in the command. Players can create a map by using the following steps:
    • Connect to MinecraftBuild.
    • Click the emerald in your inventory.
    • Choose either VOID, FLAT, ADVANCED FLAT, or SPECIAL.
    • Once teleported to the map, click on the nether star, then on the nametag to set world options.
This can also be done via command:
    • /create [void/flat/advancedflat]
Void: Creates a map with no blocks in it other than a glass block at the spawnpoint. Don't worry if you accidentally break the glass! You can always do //up 0, //fill <block> <size> or other WE commands to create platforms you can build on.

Flat: Creates a flat map with a layer of grass, 62 layers of dirt underneath the grass, and a layer of bedrock underneath the dirt, to mark the build limit.

Advanced Flat: Creates a customisable flat world, where the amount of layers of the map, and the blocks for each layer can be adjusted.

Special: In the special map menu, you can create nether and end dimension maps and Custom Terrain maps made by our Build Team.

    Custom Terrains
Gray Islands: Volcanic Islands with one main peak and flat areas to build on.
Sunkissed Valley: Golden ranges and valleys with flatter surfaces to build on.
Rusted: Dirt trails. Somewhat hilly. Gamemode friendly.
Ashen Hills: Dusky mountains scattered along the north-west boundaries with rolling hills throughout.
Tundra: Snowy biomes with hills all throughout the map. Gamemode friendly.

    Deleting a Map
Maps can be deleted by typing in /archive twice. Only owners of the map is able to perform this command. Archiving the map makes it so that no one can edit the map anymore. Archived maps do not count towards the map slots limit. Be careful, because once the map is archived, it can't be undone.

    Accessing Your Maps

To access the maps that players have permissions on, either click on the clock upon logging in, or type in /map.

Another method is to type in /map <id>. This can direct players to public maps, or private maps if the players have at least a visitor perm on it, with the id that is typed in. However, it is impossible to access private maps if the player has no perm on it, or maps that the player is banned in.

    The Map GUI
    • A GUI with 5 items will appear. Each of these items represents a perm.
    • Emerald represents Owner
    • Diamond represents Manager
    • Gold represents Member
    • Iron represents Helper
    • Coal represents Visitor
    • Glowstone represents recently visited maps.
    • The number of items represents the number of maps a player has a given perm on. For example, the player in this screenshot has 64 maps with the Owner permission.
    • Click on one of the items to see all the maps you have an owner/manager/member/visitor perm on.
    Build Menu

When in a map, a nether star will be in the 9th slot of the hotbar, named Build Menu. What this tool does is allows players to control certain features on their maps, and/or access the options found when in the Build lobby.

When the Build Menu is clicked, the following GUI will pop up:

    • The player head allows players to use the "Join a Player" feature.
    • The emerald creates a new map.
    • The map allows you to view all maps that the player has a perm on.
    • The wooden door takes the player back to the Build lobby.
    • The iron door takes players to the Brawl Hub
    • And finally the nametag, allows players to change the current map's settings. When you click on it, a different GUI will pop up:

    • The repeater at the top, will show the previous GUI.
