  • Mob Catching

The ability to catch a mob is a special feature on Raid. It allows a player to "catch" MOBs in spawn eggs in exchange for experience levels. All but 2 mobs in the game can be caught, the exceptions being Ender Dragon and a Wither

NOTE: Certain mobs have no AI in order to reduce server lag.

    How to Catch Mobs?

    1. Obtain a regular egg (lain by Chickens)
    2. Find the mob you want to catch
    3. Shift, and throw the egg at the mob
    4. Providing you have the required levels - The mob will be "caught" and turned into a spawn egg

Each MOB requires a different amount of experience levels to catch. If you have the correct amount of levels (or more), there is a 100% chance the MOB will be caught. However, if you have fewer levels than required, the chance of catching decreases. The further away from the required levels, the lower the chance of catching the mob.

If the catch fails - All your levels are lost.

    Spawn Egg Uses

Spawn eggs can be used to transport mobs from one location to another - If you want to place a mob into your base, catching it and then spawning it in the desired location can make the job much more simple and easy. Whether the mob is destined to be a pet, to breed with other mobs, or to farm for drops, this process makes things more straightforward.

Raid is a soup PvP server, so having a personal Mooshroom Cow in your base can be very useful for acquiring a lot of soup very easily. Since Mooshrooms only spawn naturally in the Mushroom Islands biome, having a personal Mooshroom can be a real asset. One of the benefits of this is you can save a precious warp point by not having to set one at the Island, and instead having a Mooshroom in your base. At 40 levels, they don't come cheap, but it can make surviving in Raid much easier.

Spawn eggs can also be bought and sold in the shop (using the /shop command). More information about the shop can be found here.

    Spawner Changing

In Vanilla Minecraft right-clicking a spawner with a mob egg will change the type of spawner to the type of egg used. In Raid, you can also change the spawner type by hitting it with a spawn egg. However, it requires that a Dragon egg be placed on top of the spawner first, and the player changing the spawner has a certain XP level.

The amount of XP levels required to change the spawner is as follows:

    20 Levels:
    [IMG] Bat
    [IMG] Bee
    [IMG] Parrot
    [IMG] Panda
    [IMG] Wolf
    [IMG] Squid
    [IMG] Ocelot
    [IMG] Cat
    [IMG] Llama
    [IMG] Trader Llama

    [IMG] Horse
    [IMG] Donkey
    [IMG] Mule

    [IMG] Dolphin
    [IMG] Zombie Horse
    [IMG] Vex

    [IMG] Endermite

    [IMG] Silverfish
    [IMG] Strider

    35 Levels:
    [IMG] Cow
    [IMG] Pig
    [IMG] Sheep
    [IMG] Rabbit
    [IMG] Chicken
    [IMG] Cod
    [IMG] Tropical Fish
    [IMG] Salmon
    [IMG] Pufferfish
    [IMG] Turtle

    [IMG] Polar Bear
    [IMG] Skeleton Horse
    [IMG] Hoglin

    50 Levels:
    [IMG] Mooshroom
    [IMG] Fox
    [IMG] Wandering Trader

    [IMG] Spider
    [IMG] Cave Spider

    [IMG] Skeleton
    [IMG] Stray

    [IMG] Witch
    [IMG] Blaze
    [IMG] Piglin

    [IMG] Zombie

    [IMG] Husk
    [IMG] Ravager

    [IMG] Guardian

    65 Levels:
    [IMG] Slime
    [IMG] Creeper
    [IMG] Magma Cube
    [IMG] Drowned
    [IMG] Phantom
    [IMG] Ghast
    [IMG] Elder Guardian

    Disabled:
    [IMG] Villager
    [IMG] Vindicator
    [IMG] Pillager
    [IMG] Zombie Villager
    [IMG] Zombie Pigman
    [IMG] Wither Skeleton
    [IMG] Evoker

If the spawner is broken the Dragon egg will be dropped, but the XP and Spawn Egg used to create the custom spawner will not be dropped.

    Stacking

Mobs can stack when they spawn or are bred, up to 256 individuals. This means that you could breed a stack of cows so it has 256 cows, or you could create an XP farm that collects mobs, or you might encounter mobs already stacked. When you interact with mobs, you interact with only one of them- in other words, a stack of 255 skeletons won't do 255 times the damage. This stacking mechanism is helpful for getting XP or moving large numbers of mobs around.
