Away Only Applies In-Game

    Since the last 3 weeks, my connection speed has gotten to the point of being so low that even some hotel Wi-Fi connection has been faster than my home network connection. Every time I try to play on the servers, I get extremely high pings and get kicked by timed out errors. At random points, my connection speed can randomly jump from 54 mbps to 12, 18, 24, and even 1 mbps (usually have 2/5 bars of connection). I have honestly no idea on how this happened as this problem randomly appeared out of the blue on June 6. I've attempted many solutions to solve this error with no success:
    • Re-install Minecraft and my .minecraft.
    • Try to import a policy into my firewall that allows Java configurations and Minecraft.exe.
    • Attempt to change the parameters through CMD.
    • Update to the latest Java Runtime Environment.
    • Scan my PC for any malware or viruses.
    • Made sure no other programs were running while playing Minecraft.
    • Attempt playing on 1.7.10.
    Until this problem is solved, you won't be seeing me on the servers much. Even when I'm online, I'm most likely to be kicked within the next minute or so by a high ping.

    P.S. If you can find me a solution that can solve this problem, than I'll give you a follow.

    It's a shame we lose someone like you from our servers, but it's good that you still stay here as one of the most active forumers!

    I didn't want to leave, but my connection speed keeps kicking me from the servers. I will get back online once my connection speed is back up to 4/5 bars. However, I fear that this problem might last throughout the entire summer.

    Its a shame F1r3star. Its a good thing you aren't leaving though.

    It could be your actual router. Are you experiencing lag on other devices that require lag such as a phone or something? Also, if you only get the lag on McBrawl then you can assume that it is server lag.

    I know exactly how to fix this, all you have to do is stick a carrot in your router, and it fixes it!

    no but seriously, I hope you get your good connection back soon.

    Yeah, I was thinking about my router, but I have no idea how to reset the router for my PC. I'm not getting lag on any other devices such as my iPad. Lastly, this is affecting every minecraft server I'm going on, so it's definitely not server lag. My best guess is because my PC doesn't have a direct connection like my family computer. Whenever I check the family computer, it has 5/5 bars of connection unlike my PC, which has 2/5 bars. Not exactly sure if this is the case because I didn't have a problem with connection prior to June 6.

    Good. I'm glad you didn't make an outro and only made an away post. Get er fixed man. I know it must be killing you.

    I think it's AT&T. No exactly sure. Glad that I'm not the only one that's have this problem.

    It's like being banned from Mcbrawl in an aspect. I haven't even gotten to explore the new hub because of this issue.

    AT&T is a pretty bad ISP during peak hours. It fails to give everyone the same network speed during pesk hours, giving some people (netflix :v) priority over others.
    Try changing your wireless channel. You'll probably need the account password used for the internet though.
    Usually this gets me good results when my internet is running slowly.

    Like I said, I don't know how to restart the router in my PC.
