    Mc-war: Infection Part 2

    Markus Zom, commander of armed forces at the now hellish arctic command base in siberia, ran with his head down into the burning wreckage of his once heavily fortified establishment. Flanking him was his small party, Matthew Fan, Richard ‘coast’ Dom, and Kun Yin. All of them wore grim expressions, slighting weapons and checking ammunition in mid stride. Markus was carrying an obviously overkill weapon for the close quarters combat that was to come, and intended to get a far better weapon as soon as he could. They found that the main door was locked tight, the control panel was shot from the inside.

    “I’ll handle this” Said Matthew, pulling out a large shotgun round and loading his Model. With one shot he blew into the base’s central corridor, that linked everything else in the facility together. They were nearly knocked backward by the overpowering stench of decay.

    “well.. at least we know what we’re fighting... kind of” Said Matthew to his right, hefting his Model with satisfaction. Markus surveyed the area, hearing yelling faintly toward the back. He knew that the fastest way to get to them was straight through, better than risking encountering their automatic defense systems, which no doubt were on high alert. They all ran into the facility, slipping into a small room off to the immediate left of the main entrance.

    “We have survivors, Kun, try to contact them. Matthew and Coast, clear these rooms” He cocked his Barrett and aimed down the hall, taking a prone position and placing a hand firmly on the legs of the stand, the other on the trigger. Understanding without saying that Markus was covering their position, Coast raised his Skullcrusher and blasted a door of it’s hinges with a hard kick.

    “Nice foot you've got there, but make less noise” Grumbled Matthew as the splintering wail of the doorframe bounced around the hall. The call was answered with a yelp of horror as Coast fired four rounds into the chest of a zombie that was crouched behind the wall. It slumped for a moment, Coast relaxing, before raising it’s head and lunging at Coast with a horrible snarl. Kun shot two bullets cleanly through the eyes of the attacker from behind the three soldiers.

    “Next time, aim for the head rookie” He said with a sniff, reloading his Desert Eagle with a click.

    “Thanks Kun..” Coast said, rolling out from under the misshapen lump and spitting. They were unable to contact anyone, the yelling had stopped and was instead replaced by the overwhelming sound of constant automatic fire. By then they had cleared the rooms in the hall, save the connecting corridors. In total, fourteen infected died to the four soldiers. As they pressed onward, into the facility, they came across a very large and very sealed fire door.

    “Great” Said Matthew, tapping the key card reader with his weapon, pointing out the large bullet hole in the center. As they looked around, they found several more of these holes all over the ceiling and floor, but not the walls.

    “This suggests... crawling zombies?” Markus said in confusion, looking around.

    “No, its worse than that” Replied Coast, horror dawning on his face as he realized their situation.

    “What is it Coast?” Asked Kun slowly, inspecting the blasted panel. He noted that it looked as if the bullet entered for the other side of the door, at a straight angle.

    “There’s no blood or anything, which suggests that whoever was fighting these things got away.. by locking them in this wing of the facility. We’re locked in with them”. Markus became very pale and lowered his Barrett, taking several steps backward and leaning his back against the hard metal door.

    “how much time would you say we have Coast?” He asked, taking his Pythons off his belt and checking them.

    “with how long we just spent clearing rooms and shooting guns? We’re probably on borrowed time” He said quickly, not turning and staring at the ceiling. Markus pressed a few buttons on his wrist interface and activated his scouting visor. A small green screen that was attached to his headset came down and rested in front of his face like an overlay, or glasses. As it booted up, he quickly gave the micro computer attached to it the order to start scanning for heat signatures. He didn't need to. Like a cold finger, a drop of water ran down his neck.

    thats not water! his mind screamed at him. Markus looked up, just in time for a horrible face to lunge from it’s perch on the ceiling. With a muffled thud, Markus hit the ground without a word or sound. Within seconds he blacked out, just as Matthew noticed the attack. Whirling, he fired his model into the horrible creature’s back. It had no effect.

    “Get this thing off the commander!” he yelled at the two other soldiers, looking frantic as he pulled his knife and stabbed the freakish being. It whirled on Matthew, features all but rotted away. It hissed angrily and lunged at the helpless soldier, near skeletal hands raking his face and chest. With a shout of both horror and rage, Kun threw his knife. It embedded in the creature’s neck and went almost clean through. It gurgled, wavered, and fell still. Coast rushed to Matthew’s side, which was bleeding profusely. Markus didnt fare much better, a long gash ran from his cheek to his arm, and all along it.

    “what do we do?!” Coast yelled, voice cracking. They had no medic, and his commanding officers were bleeding out in front of him.

    “Coast! Calm down!” Shouted Kun back, gripping him on the shoulders and shaking him. This helped a bit, but they weren't prepared for the next horror. With a groan and a creaking of limbs, Markus rose from the floor. His eyes were glazed, his stance faulty, and his body broken. Realization dawned on Coast and he broke down, pressing himself against the wall and blabbing incoherently. After a few moments of staring, Markus made no further movements. His mouth opened and shut, and he trembled like an earthquake was racking the building. Finally his rasp of a voice broke through.

    ruuuun”. Kun’s eyes widened and he grabbed Coast’s arm, yanking him from his stupor.
    “Coast, we’ve just been given our last order by commander Zom, I want you to follow it through to the letter. RUN”. The two survivors sprinted from the horrific scene as Markus and Matthew’s newly infected bodies screamed and began to pursue them.

    dont look back!” yelled Kun from between clenched teeth. The door was coming up, fifty feet, forty, thirty, twenty. They were going to make it. We’re going to make it!. Every fiber of Kun’s being burned with the desire for escape. He felt a hand grab his shoulder as he ran past, yanking him down into a side room. NO he screamed in his mind, for a hand was placed firmly over his mouth. He thrashed and kicked. After a few moments he realized that his attacker had not moved or spoken. The disfigured forms of Matthew and Markus ran past, howling in outrage. Only then did the hand lift from his face. Spinning around he gawked. Ten people stood in a half circle around him, their faces darkened by the waning sun behind them. One of the survivors stepped partially into the dim light to speak. A girl? Thought Kun, her face unrevealed but her hair that was long enough to reach halfway down her arms.

    “Hello Kun, your friend is safe, we have two of our best assassins tracking him and your infected buddies, they won't lay a finger on him”.

    “but the two infected ar-” He began, cut off by a silencing hand from the woman.

    “They are gone Kun, you have to accept that.” With this she stepped completely into the light, speaking again.

    “Sara Rain, Commander of Wolf squad. Welcome to the survivors Kun”

    To be continued...

    Note: The stories will get incrementally longer as I get more used to this world I have created. As this was a bridge point, needing to introduce Wolf Squad and eliminate myself and Phanta. The next chapter will be much more tense, exciting, and colorfully worded. I added slight gore aspects to try and make this story less boring for you, the reader. This is a temporary measure, so try and ride this out with me okay?

    Players used and their names in the story:
    @Phanta -Matthew Fan - Deceased
    @jkzoom -Markus Spire - Deceased
    @Coasting - Richard Dom - survivor
    @DarkYin - Kun Yin - New protagonist

    It's a good thing the team had their heavily armed snipers waiting for their signal to save them...
    . @audir8fan5 and @MR_EVIL_OVERLORD the countries premier snipers were waiting to save them and unleash hell. Audir with his 50cal and Evil with his Dissassembler. The team had already called in teams Java, Wolf, Hack, and Flux. They were ready to rock and roll.

    It was a good thing Evil suggested they send in Life Model Decoy's (robots) or JKZOOM would be dead again...Evil's time at Shield had really paid off. JKZOOM would be really happy he included him on the team yet again. Evil had saved JKZOOM 3x previous and he owed Evil his life. He pondered this from the space station as they prepared to nuke the site from space. It was the only sure way to kill the zombies. He owed Evil for saving his bacon again. He pondered how to thank his American friend yet again for saving his life... :open_mouth:
