Idea [Rework] Pyro V2

    Goal of rework: To make pyro more balanced while keeping it heavy offense.

    Armor
    Leather (red)
    Leather(red)
    Leather(red)
    Leather(red)

    Inventory / abilities
    Pyro axe.) Pyro's main weapon. When a pyro attacks an enemy that is on fire he will deal 3.5 hearts of true damage.

    Pyro Bow.) when shot an arrow with a flaming trail shoots out igniting and slowing (Slowness 1) enemies for 5 seconds. At full charge the arrow will give a small explosion igniting and slowing for 5 seconds and deal a bonus 2 hearts of true damage as-well.

    5 Blaze powder.) When right clicked the pyro shoots forth a wave of flames igniting enemies for 5 seconds.

    24 arrows

    5 steak

    Comment what you think of my second version of a rework for pyro.

    I think Pyro needs a dark leather hat (to represent the gas mask from TF2 :v)

    But besides that, I think the pyro needs a little bit more arrows. You can run out quickly and kind of get destroyed from a longer distance. I'd say, 20-25 is pretty fine.

    @MessageForHelp Pyro is one of 3 ranged classes. It really won't get destroyed from long range, especially since it has the blaze rod in this rework. I also don't think the hat matters, this rework wasn't focused on aesthetics. I also think that comment shows how much more Brawl is focused on aesthetics ^-^

    I think the blaze rod idea is really OP, maybe if it took up 10 arrows and had a huge cooldown it would be okay, but I don't think it's a good idea. It would also create a lot of lag. Maybe just make a smaller burn radius.

    I like the Blaze Powder concept, but I don't feel like it belongs in pyro. Pyro shouldn't be a hit and run class, and with it's other abilities it's not. This ability is more suited for assassin or ninja. Great ability idea though c:

    I also don't like the triple arrow idea, as that's just too many arrows. One arrow is more than enough if it still has an explosion radius like the current pyro.

    Personally, I'm not a fan of the true damage for the axe. I'd like to see unique ability ideas for pyro. While it is a good concept and will likely be added, I just think it's an overused idea, even if it is good.

    (Theres actually 5 ranged classes: Mage, Elf, Pyro, Ranger, and Engineer.)

    I agree that the blaze rod idea isn't that great and would cause a lot of lag.

    I didn't like the concept of pyro being hit and run either thats why I made it take more damage from all sources of damage while using it but it still would make it hit and run.

    I disagree with the true damage being an overused idea. I can only recall Elf having true damage abilities, thus no other classes have it. Pyro's insta-kill was a factor in my mcpvp didn't do to well. When you use my suggestion pyro can still very easily take out enemy's health but their targets still have a chance to fight back with their steak.

    McCtf =/= Tf2

    I changed the blaze powder idea and the blaze rod idea into something else. Do you think its better as-well?

    Ranger / archer is a free class that can instakill players when they are very far away with their bow. (The only instakill that should remain (besides assassin's)

    Pyro is the MOST balanced game in Capture The Flag. It helps players win games and helps the offensive players feel safe that the flag is under control and safe at the flag zone. The way to counter it is by a medic healing you non-stop or by just doing /medic and going to the flag room and counter it.

    Pyro is NOT the most balanced class in CTF. It's ability to flint and steel spam just allows it to instakill anything without actually trying. All you do is see an enemy and frantically spam your FnS then get the kill.
    Not to mention with the bow, aiming isn't necessary. You just have to have the bow constantly pulled then let go and because of the AoE (area of effect), it gets the player 99% of time.
    Medic is a counter, but you should remember that a pyro can kill a medic. The defence will never have a solo pyro, so going medic instead of soldier or whatever class may actually hinder your ability to cap in a negative way.

    You have to switch your class and capping stype just because there's a pyro. Doesn't seem right.

    Pyro should still have instakills, since that's the only thing that can stop a team of buffed heavys/soldiers. But, I do think that there should be some things changed about it. Like maybe if someone's on fire give them speed 1. Or put a limit on flint spamming.

    Theres plenty of ways to stop buffed heavys / soldiers. mages? Engineers? lots. Even another chemist?

    You got to have something to stop that thing. Removing a pyro' instakill will just make it so much easier for a soldier/heavy to cap. It'll remove all the strategy in capping. Y'know when you got to send a ninja or assassin to kill the pyro? That's just my opinion, but I respect yours.
    Are you sure those things can kill a couple of buffed heavys? Those classes can annoy/slow down the heavies or soldiers. But, honestly I'm positive that they won't be able to completely kill them.

    Another thing is, coming across a chemist buffed heavy is pretty rare because when it comes to chemist its buff and go right when they get out of spawn. They don't go around throwing strength all the time at people, and the buffs are not even that powerful.

    And pyro's insta-kills was one of the reasons why so many people quit. Just saying...
