So I posted a new thread and gave an idea that was full proof and could be made air-tight with a few adjustments. Of course a few brawlers come along and want to prove me wrong just for the sole purpose of their post count rising (Everyone is a wannabe mod these days). To my surprise, they all give the same reason, flooding my thread with spam of saying the same thing over and over and over to the point where there are no positive posts on there.

So I feel that the community that I knew and loved is now turing into a whole battle of "you're wrong" and "no you're wrong". All people do today is try to prove people wrong left and right. Hell, I even did it when they were being negative but the thing that was annoying was I kept having to say the same thing because all their arguments were almost exactly the same.

For example. @Nxyy said, "I agree with @MrWaffleman and @Signatured It's a vanilla server for a reason. There's team warps, and that's still cutting it close. I'd love this idea but i'd turn survival more into a factions server, and that's not the point of survival."

Ok the thing that I hated about this post is that you can tell it was rushed and had no thought in it and was just for post count considering that her mod app was denied because she didn't have enough activity on the forums.
Another thing that was dumb in my opinion was the post in general. Why say you agree with someone when you could simply click the agree button that was conveniently placed under the post instead of adding more spam and negativity to the thread.

What I'm trying to get at is, everyone needs to stop being so negative. In a community, you don't need to put someone down over and over and over especially when the point you are stating has already been made. You are supposed to support people even when you don't agree fully, say something like "I like this adea and it would be nice but...(Negativity)... but other than that it would be cool."
    Not this... https://www.brawl.com/threads/40127/#post-518810

But what do I know? Im only Pac-Man

You know what I find funny? You're referring to other people as Brawlers in a negative connotation when you are one too.

You know what else is funny, you are proving my point by being the first negative comment.

Btw i'm no longer a brawler as this isn't my main server anymore :stuck_out_tongue:.

What else do you expect when you make this type of thread? You're bringing this upon yourself. Also, you are still technically a Brawler until you completely cut off your connection with Brawl (servers, forum, Ts).

Threads and the forum is for expressing opinion on a topic or idea. Are you expected to support an idea, even if you don't believe it should happen, or say that idea is cool, even if you don't like it? That's like saying, "Hey! I don't really want your suggestion to be added to the server, but I'll support your idea anyway! +1!"

Welcome to the internet, where anyone can be a douche.

Brawl isn't always going to be the perfect environment everyone is dreaming about. Of course the people who you're describing could've done something better, but everything is not going to go as planned. You're going to have those idiots who are like "Wow, such a dumb thing to suggest, no way this is going to be added." which totally lacks any structural criticism. But the thing that is good, that you shouldn't be thinking bad about is that some people don't just put '-1's on all suggestions for no reason. Sometimes it's good to tell someone what they did wrong or what was the fault of what they were doing, not by saying it bluntly but by saying it in a kind way and in a way the person realized what is wrong of what they suggested. This is the kind of criticism that's actually good and everyone had to live through, so next time when you give a suggestion it's better than the last. Everyone has mistakes, and every time there is a mistake there's mostly always a person to fix it. I can understand what you mean by "Yeah I agree" when you can merely press the agree button, but you shouldn't take things personally. If you know she's doing something with the wrong intention you should privately say it to her not publicly announce it on the forums (which can start flame wars). Every human has a mistake, but unless they learn from their mistakes and try to do something better next time, there's no use for them to be a part of something. I'm your friend and I don't want you to take this personally, you know that none of those people there want to aggravate you, most of them are really speaking from their heart and telling you what they think is wrong with the idea. If you make a suggestion, and expect to see all positive reactions then it's better off to not make a suggestion, all great things came through a process of rejection and failure. If you want something to be applied in Brawl, then you should fight for what you think is right. There's a lot of obstacles on the way, but if you quit, then nothing's going to happen. These are honest words from me, and you can probably tell this wasn't just a random post to farm more messages. -Waffle

My ideas have had a lot of negative feedback over the years, but do I complain about it? Just move on, and accept it. Flaming won't change anything - what has happened, can not be reverted.

@IamPacman I said that post to agree with my friends. Survival is a vanilla server for a reason. Just because one "random" post upsets you, you shouldn't take out your anger on other brawlers. Looking over the comments on this thread, proves you're just bringing more "hate" upon yourself. If you're getting hate for such comments, making a thread for the "negativity" brawl has, won't do you much good. If you had a problem with my post you could've Pm me. Another thing that concerns me: For one post you don't like on a thread with 5+ other players commenting on the same idea, on the same thread, there's bound to be some "repeats". I wasn't the only one who disliked your idea I also wasn't the only one who said they didn't like it. Not only this, but, It's an open thread. Anyone can comment on it. People are allowed to express their opinions and there's not always going to be positive ratings on a certain idea. And you're always going to like peoples opinions.

I just read through the thread again. 5 posts are completely people farming posts. There was no value to them at all and the people who posted them do not even play pvp. The reason for all of the negative comments is because this idea has been suggested (in another form) in the past and was also shot down. Everyone who posted after sig was farming posts. With the exception of you ibk.

You practically made this thread whining about why people won't agree with you.

Maybe it's not a good idea, did you think of that?

He is complaining about a thread he posted in PvP Survival Ideas.
This thread was moved from PvP Survival to Off Topic as well.

I know, but he was talking about people farming posts. So I just wanted to make it clear that we weren't here.

Im not saying you have to 100% agree with it, I'm saying you don't have to keep repeating the same thing over and over. It was just an example of what a good community would be.

I'm not flaming. I'm simply stating my opinion.

I know. I was using you as an example b.c I was disappointed in you. If you want to know why, we can talk about it.

Btw, idc if people start to hate me because of this post. If they want to be mad about what I said, they can go ahead.

The problem here is not the community. The problem here is your ego. You have the audacity to come in here, to a community which you are not all too familiar with, then criticize us when we shoot down your ideas because of its flaws. Not only that, but you then tell us that it is our fault that your idea wasn't accepted.

Oh, and it doesn't stop there.

You then tell people that you are "disappointed in them" because they disagreed with you. But honestly, the best part is when you said you don't care what we think of you. You have said to our faces that we are not as good as you and our opinions of you don't matter, because you are so perfect that you don't need to change yourself.

If you want a perfect community, start by changing yourself.

I'm not sure if I find it funny or kind of sad that you respond to people saying your ideas have flaws by making an entire post about them.

It makes you seem insecure. I've read the thread, and the points that these people were making seem like pretty valid points too, with the major downside to the idea being that massive groups of people could TP into an unsuspecting player making the suggestion of TP's seem a little to favouring to the players who have groups to play with, nonwithstanding the complaints that it starts to push the server a little to far out of the 'vanilla' kind of gamemode that people seem to like.

A lot of people posting doesn't mean that they're trying to fill a chat with spam and negativity, it means that they're all disagreeing with your idea. Not with you. Your idea. There is, in fact a difference.

The only person here filling the chat (really the forum's front page) with negativity is you, because instead of trying to change, develop, or generally modify your original idea into a way that could suit the server and the likes of the community, you make an entire post with the purpose of calling these people post farmers* and wannabe mods. That doesn't seem like you're trying to be above the whole 'you're wrong' dynamic you're trying to call out here.

Besides, this many people bringing up the same few things wrong with the idea doesn't mean that they're all trying to be negative. Consider, maybe, that you did a bad job of explaining the details of this change, and in what ways it could be modified to fix the problems that were addressed instead of attacking the people making the problems.

And, maybe then, this post wouldn't be necessary.

*Insert synonym for a hooker here, because apparently that's a curse word now. Get ur censoring act together brawl :stuck_out_tongue:

This isn't just the internet. This is the largest public society ever created by humans. In order to survive in this cruel community, you must learn to accept rather than deny. Accept anything that is negative in the forums so that flame wars would not erupt like what just happened here.

Most people who desire to become a mod are newcomers and are misunderstood of how the system works. Not everyone is a wannabe mod and if there were one individual who was, he would be a newcomer like the many who come in everyday. We give the same reasons to counter against your idea probably because we seek for the most exposed flaws in your ideas or try to look at the big problems in everything. Don't accept our refutes as negative but as POSITIVES because you may actually be able to look back and realize a little gap in your thread.

You will find it hard to leave the forums. I know that because many people including myself came back at some point.

The funniest thing about this post is that it's all based off of assumptions made by you're undeveloped mind. You took my words and twisted them to make it look bad, again proving my point of brawlers posting nothing but negativity. Btw you said I'm unfamiliar with the community, yet i've been here for 2 years.

When I say "brawlers", the only people I'm referring to is the people who get mad when I say it. So almost everyone one that replied to this thread knows I was describing them so they took offense to this thread.

Your ego is too massive to contain lol

"Your underdeveloped mind" Hmm, you criticize me for making assumptions, seems you're making one right here.
"I've been here for 2 years" You have 38 posts.
"They took offense to this thread" I take offense to your utter ignorance and stupidity.

Here is your problem. You think that you are the main character of a video game, and we all spawn in as part of your adventure. You know next to nothing about us. You have legitimately no idea about any of us. You think you are perfect. You think you cannot be wrong. You think we are at fault for disagreeing for you. In fact, you have the underdeveloped mind. You lack the social skill to appreciate other people. You lack the capacity to understand your own flaws. You think you are the smartest person alive. You think that you are so gifted, so privileged, so utterly perfect, that you cannot be wrong.

Do us all a favor and leave the forums.

Excuse me while I let this sink in:

Oh, irony can be a cruel mistress indeed.

Guy, let's get something straight. C9's point, while blunt, was a pretty valid discription of the events. You seem unable to take criticism of your ideas as you seem to think that everyone should think it's perfect, then proceed to be 'disappointed' in them when they disagree. It's narcissistic, and makes you look like you're taking too much personal offense at the rejection of your idea.

The trick is to separate your idea from your own self image, and to try to post it with the intention of working out flaws instead of holding stubbornly to the idea that it's correct. That's rarely the case.

So, mr. Pacman, howsabout we settle down a bit, think about what the real problem here is, and act on a way to improve your idea instead of holding fast to your current one. That way, you get a better idea, you get nicer forums, and you get less 'flame' and 'disappointment'. You win.
