CTF Rant

The released version of CTF is in beta, and Nugget has stated multiple times that there are many bugs and glitches he is working on fixing. Be grateful that someone is working hard on it. Thanks for your patience

 

Fair enough, but even without a scoreboard, there's still a pretty large chance someone could kill you. For instance, someone flanks you from the behind and instakills you. I do see that the scoreboard can be annoying at first, especially when you're not used to a new feature. Like all players, they will eventually get used to the scoreboard and be able to compensate it with gameplay.

 

Yes, and people can still do that. You just have to give change a chance instead of being the guy who says, "**** change, I want everything to be the way it once was!"

 

If a scoreboard that small really impedes your killing ability then that's....extremely odd. If an enemy is in your peripheral vision you have to move to hit them, and it's not as if the scoreboard isn't transparent (Which Im pretty sure you can adjust with Optifine). So even if the scoreboard were to impede on your viewing experience then may I ask you about the chat impeding your vision of attackers on the bottom left of you?

Yes and almost everybody hated the Pyro nerf and we all know how that wasn't reverted and now we all accept Pyro as being OP still.

 

Well Pyro is one of the main defensive classes so I could agree to your opinion. At least Godman is just standing up for himself lol (Im not supporting anyone in this thread). I just like how people state their opinion when other people are scared to due to denial.

 

Yeah, its good that he's sharing his opinion but it's obvious the other side will share theirs.

We've barely opened guys, try not to be so quick to demand and instead take a more passive approach. If you treat change as something that can be worked with through coder and community feedback rather than "Big mean staff ruin my game" things will go a lot smoother.

 

Wait... You can adjust that with OptiFine?? How!

 

also, the compass makes it hard to know where it is pointing at unless you hover over it in your inventory with your mouse, please fix

I just realized this until last night, if you move your head around the banner moves with your head. Its pretty funny when you see someone derp around by shaking their head really quickly when they have the flag.

 

I like the new HUD. You see the way the old worked is every second it would spam chat with another message of the hud, which could be see by pressing t and seeing multiple old huds above the current. This caused a lot of lag for people with bad internet. Often the hud would fail to load or stop.

I do agree though that the features from the old hud need to be added to the new one.

 

I have an idea. Players would spawn with the new HUD and could have the old one shown to them with /oldhud and switch back with /newhud

Honestly, everyone here is really picky. I'm just glad ctf wasn't shut down.

 

I dont see why they couldn't keep things the way they were. People seem to love the old CTF without the new additions, so why fix something that wasn't broken in the first place? also, wool block > banners.
