Idea Wool or banner

Well, stealing is definitely easy af without flag timers. Steal on Airlock with flag timers and a bunch of people knocking you off the hill. It gets a little more difficult. The timer gives the defense more time to hurt you, so even if you find stealing easy, once you get into the carrying phase, you're starting out with less health, which in turn makes capping more difficult.

 

@Shayne It's for a number of reasons. The biggest reason is that flagposts have a hitbox, which means it stops sprint and projectiles which is great and very helpful. Also, flag banners make it impossible to see over your head in f5 mode without bending your neck really far back so you can't sprint. Plus, banners remove your helmet which is bad :c

Plus the banners look horrible on your head compared the the wool fountain.

 

The banner takes away armor, right? I hate that. You can't be balanced unless you are ninja assassin or mage, which are bad at capping..

 

Ninja and mage are actually great for capping imo

 

They just can't take that many hits from ninja's and heavy's.. buffers imo is op.

The wool was a more balanced way of picking up the flag :/ everything was already worked out with timing and such. Stealing is incredibly easy with the banner method, and ghost capping (pearling with ninja then going to grab the flag) is very OP with the banner.

 

@BrandinoB Flag timers will be fixed regardless of whether we chose to use wool or banners.

Also, another reason for wool is that you have to stand over the banner which is really annoying. Wool you can stand a little bit away.

The thing is, the banner does take your armor right? It is completely pointless. It may provide a better visual to spot the individual flag holder, but that's the compass's job, letting you find the flag holder. If you get close enough, you will be able to see the wool, that really is the only good thing for the banners. I asked Nom, and he said "They look cool" They really are here for nothing and many people don't like them, plus, they look stupid.

Tbh the look kinda grew on me x3 but gameplay was not up to par imo.

 

Although you can see the banner far away (trust me you can see this thing a thousand miles away). Then again this is why we have compasses to see where the location of the flag holder is plus it doesn't remove your helmet giving you less armor points (except for ninja, assassin, elf?). It's official we want our wool back >:l

 

U missed mage, but yeah, seriously, the compass brings it into close range, if its a group of defenders, I'm sure 3 bouncing beauty of wool's will be good to see, if it's a 1% chance of vision you want for the banner, you made a bad decision brawl D":

Banners make more sense, in my opinion.

 

@Striker_Eight It's about the gameplay, not about the look, as Jame's said. Banners have a negative effect on gameplay beacuse:

- You can't throw projectiles while in them.
- It blocks your view in f5 mode
- You have to stand directly on it to pick it up
- It does not stop projectiles

 

For games I've ran over the banner at least 5 times trying to pick up the flag, and with no success as the defense just beat on me. The fence post was great because you knew when you hit the post to pick up the flag. With the banner, there is nothing solid to judge where it stands... and while in combat and being pushed and beaten by loads of defenders, it gets almost impossible.
