Hi guys! I’ve been thinking about this for a little while and I think that the time has finally come for me to resign as Trial JMOD, primarily due to the rank changes that the merge has brought.

As a MinecraftBuild Mod on MCPVP, the perks were practically unlimited: we could essentially do what we wanted, as long as it didn’t affect the admins’ work. This was possible due to MCPVP’s system of having Mods for specific gamemodes, rather than the entire server, which is what Brawl has. Right now, I can use two commands: /kick (for up to an hour), and /mute. If I am promoted to a Junior Mod, I’ll get those commands on all servers. And maybe, if I’m lucky, I’ll be promoted to Moderator and I’ll be able to ban people. Don’t get me wrong, the Brawl moderation system makes total sense and is run much more professionally than MCPVP, whose Moderation system could be (and was, from time to time) abused – but it’s a far cry from what I was able to do on MCPVP.

I can and will continue to help out around Build and the forums because I enjoy it and I have stuff I need to do (updating the lobby, fixing map 36, running Kodo) – but I don’t need to be JMOD for that. It’s not worth having to put myself through things like Mod gradings, being active on Teamspeak and having to fill out an inactivity report every time I’m away for more than a few days, for a couple of commands that I will rarely use.

I’m confident that I will never have the permissions that I had previously and that’s fine, because again, it makes sense. It would be unfair to only give them to a select number of people, and it would be short-sighted to give them to every JMOD. When it comes down to it, it’s not a huge deal; all I’m losing is a pink name, two commands and a whole lot of unnecessary pressure.

I’m not blaming anyone, I’m not trying to score points; I just don’t think that Brawl’s system of managing Mods works for me personally. I hope you all understand.
