    Seriously.
This Freeday Friday (commonly joked upon as Noobday) is a day on Friday where everyone gets instant access to all premium classes for like, 24 hours.
It might seem generous and kind, and I guess it kind of is, but it just infuriates me personally, and also others too. For me, it irritates me that, instead of practicing my capping skills (which are half decent) I have to spend the 20 minute match targeting noob pyros and engineers.
And all the CTF servers are like that on Freeday 'Noobday' Friday.
So can anyone actually give me a legit, not disprovable reason for any actual benefits of Freeday 'Noobday' Friday?

Gives players a chance to test out the classes without paying which gives them more incentive to buy the classes.

If you don't like it, don't play on Friday

Free Fridays were in MCPVP, so there's no reason why they shouldn't be brought to Brawl. Removing this would make a lot of people (especially the MCPVPers) unhappy. You have access to all those classes on Fridays too, so why are you complaining?

Firstly, this allows for people who do not own this kit to try it out, therefore they are even more convinced to purchase it.

Secondly, this balances the game out by a little bit, reducing the P2W factor by 24.8%, making the game more fair towards non-donators.

Thirdly, it's a tradition that dates back at McPvP, and I don't see a reason why not (unless Brawl's marketing policy changes towards distribution of paid items for free).

I believe it is so new players can test out kits to see which ones they like the most. I'm sure sometime in the future when the brawl community gets so large that the noob day will not apply to one server of each of the game modes, but you never know :grinning:

Is there any actual data collected on this issue that proves these points?

Sure. Case in point: ME. I would never have gotten Ninja, which I was just about to buy when it was gifted to me, if I hadn't tried it on freeday.

The reasons you state above are selfish and there is no reason to remove freeday just because you are get irritated fast.

Well, I dun know, but data shows that classes being available on Friday gives people a chance to try them, and if they can try them, they can know if they like it or not. I get my data from commonsense.com

Are you really complaining about having to kill noobs? Really? Really?

The only person stopping you from practicing capping is yourself, mate. If you can't cap on the day when all the powerful classes are out in force you should probably rethink your entire strategy.

Have you ever heard of the Monty Hall problem? Or rather, the reaction to the mathematically right answer to it?
It shows that 'common sense' isn't always right.
If it was true P2W then:
-Engineer turrets would take up half the map
-Dwarf would have speed 3 and start at spawn as level 10, and gain levels without shifting
-Assassin starts out with 64 instakill redstone and has no vulnerability
-Ninja has 20 stacks of invisiblity redstone and the ninja sword deals 8 hearts of true damage
-Pyro lights every enemy player within 10 blocks automatically
    -Mage has no spell cooldown
-Necro spawner spawns 100 zombies a second
    -Elf can fly indefinetly
-Oh and all of those classes have full diamond armor
And wool as a flag was pretty much a firsthand tradition of McPvP CTF... look what Brawl did...

Just because it's not always right doesn't mean that my point is wrong.

True, but I made your point a little less creditable
One player does not dictate the world. (Or atleast, I'm pretty sure it works that way).
In any case the point that Ninja ended up getting gifted doesn't exactly correspond to you playing on Freeday 'Noobday' Friday.

I actually believe alot in freeday friday. As a ctf player who was Very Rarely able to buy classes I looked forward to freeday friday. It was a chance for me to get excited for ctf again. It made me want to continue playing and I had so much fun every freeday. I love freeday friday because of the happy experiences I had as a defensless noob on friday.

So, I should assume that Freeday 'Noobday' Friday is meant to be that people can have fun at the costs of others?
    because society, seriously...

I never said one player did. I said "Case in point" which merely means that I am an example of a more common phenomenon.

That's actually just not true. As I said, I was just about to buy it when it was gifted. It was only gifted because a friend of mine needed to get rid of some credits before they became worthless.

Isn't the entire concept of killing in video games fun at the expense of others?

And when you remove freeday, aren't you then having fun at the expense of the fun of others?

Seriously, think about your complaint. The entire complaint seems to be 'I don't like changing my playstyle'.

    Not necessarily.

I pointed out that it allows people to test classes and makes them more likely to buy them, using myself as an example.
    That is a legit reason.

I've already said that it isn't necessarily true and that we'll never know the extent of the influence of Freeday 'Noobday' Friday on class purchases until a test of some sorts is initiated.
Then we'll know... but right now, we don't.
