    One day, I was thinking of ways to fix my biggest problem with the Brawl changes - the new HUD. While pondering possible solutions, it occurred to me that I could make a simple mod that moved the scoreboard from the side of the screen to right above the chat. I have no idea how difficult this will actually be, but it doesn't sound like it will be too hard to accomplish. What do you guys think? I would like as much feedback on this as possible.
    Thanks for reading! :smile:

    I don't really have a problem with the current position of the board, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't use it.

    Maybe you could call along @Phanta . I don't think this should be official but rather a side-mod people can use just for their style.

    Why would you add a completely separate server, just to see a different item? It doesn't even change the gameplay.

    Code:
    on render tick:
        if event is not scoreboard rendering:
            return
        cancel event
        draw custom scoreboard
    Also, you can probably make the banner look like a wool block on the client

    Rather than position, I would want to have resizing independent of "GUI Size" in minecraft settings.

    you may want to subtract half the scoreboard's height from its y position

    Actually, it is rendered there so that it is impossible for the chat to cover it up. I could change it to sharing the same y position as the top of the chat but then it would be jumping around all over the place lol.

    even better, what if you just canceled the scoreboard's render tick, then drew your own hud using values pulled from it?

    It does in some ways. Not having a block there to get pushed up against does alter some things. Especially with a flag timer, getting knocked back away from the post can be a valid tactic on defense, especially on maps like Airlock where the flag is raised. Minor thing, but still a change.
    Personally, I prefer the wool, especially the way that it looks on people's heads (I always thought the fountain effect was sort of cute).

    I don't think it's compatible with Brawl, based on how much had to be recoded.
