Complete [CTF] Opposites Collide Rework

    Opposites Collide Rework - Map ID 241321
    Created by Lugia_ with the help of others

    Well, here comes another rework. Marking in as my 7th rework ever, this is Opposites Collide with a completely different feel. When I first had the idea to rework this map, I had the idea of changing things and adding new features such as:
    • Shortening the hills and removing the sandstone tunnel
    • Removing the lava from the underground completely
    • Removing the sponges that go extremely far above
    • Revamping the flag room
    • Making the spawn more aesthetically pleasing and removing the side rooms
    • Using 1.8 features such as new blocks and banners
    • Changing the overall theme
    I feel that these things were covered appropriately and create a better experience on this map. Also, I actually began reworking this map on McPvP, only finishing the spawn and the overground (which got changed to be more aesthetically and gameplay pleasing.) I hope you guys like this map and feedback is highly appreciated.



    Next, I'd like to give a quick "thank you" to those who absolutely deserve it for the hard work and dedication they have put into this map:

    Hero_ @Hero_ - for doing replicas without World Edit, bouncing around ideas, building a lot, and just being amazing overall and helping out a lot

    hallopiu @hallopiu - for doing the ceiling lights and the amazing waterfall from the river.
    Doctor_Noah @Doctor_Noah - for helping out in designing the flag room and bouncing ideas around

    Lucamaniax @Lucamaniax - for doing the pillars and some aesthetic designs
    Decelvice @Decelvice - for putting taco on every wall and helping out in some replicating
    stehplanze2000 @stehplanze2000 - for making the windmills beautiful and helping me do the custom trees
    Miskey @Miskey - moral support

    tbh i think this is just better off being called something completely different bc it doesnt even resemble Opposites Collide (which is a fav of mine) but its a great map!

    i hate to be the party pooper but i don't really like it. i don't really think it has fixed the two issues that i felt were the main problems with opposites.

    for me, the two main problems were the lack of access between the two levels and how hard it was to recover.

    from what i see this hasnt really been fixed since you have removed a lot of the ways up/down and replaced them with 1 sponge that is in the middle of some water, which isnt particularly easy to use, especially if there are people attacking you, which there probs will be cuz its right at mid.

    recovering wont really be any easier since spawn is still really far behind the flag so if someone gets out and they kill the recovery its basically a cap. plus there are still easy places to camp. on a lot of opposites games i have played people would camp in the spawn room with medics/engis etc, and, from what i can see, there arent any restriction blocks at spawn and even if you do add them it will still be easy to camp by spawn cuz of the room.

    i gave my ideas for fixes to hero so hopefully he passed them on and maybr you can consider them. if i had the choice right now i would not add this to rotation but it definitely has the potential to be in rotation if some changes are made.

    all that negativity aside, other than that it looks like you have fixed most of the other issues, so good job with that

    Yes, hug gave me everything you said and it will be looked into depending on what I feel is necessary. Also, there are restriction blocks in spawn.

    I hate to disappoint, but this is in no way, shape or form opposites collide.
    Sorry, but this just plain and simple isn't OC. It looks decent, the underground is nice, however is still small. The mobility within the underground structures is pretty difficult.

    Sorry, but please rename this.

    Holy moly this is exactly what I would've wanted in a rework. 9/10 great job! (One point off for it looking 10x better than the original)(JK 10/10)

    It's still Opposites Collide though. It may not resemble Opposites Collide exactly but thats just because of what you're used to. It's still Opposites Collide and I really don't find a point in changing the name.

    I think that's a little harsh. @Lugia_ used the structure of the map to make a rework. It's not as if she slapped the name on an original map.

    I understand that, but the only basic similarity I see between this rework and the old map, is the underground flag room. Somewhat of the above ground river, however other than that, there isn't much resemblance.

    Perhaps you look beyond how it looks and more about the basic structure? I agree, this is kind of like an old V4 rework, but it's the same map as far as structure goes.

    Annnnnnd im back to the ctf community and this is the first thing i see when i browse the forums for ctf.

    preety sw33k map, but i wouldnt call it an opposites collide rework. i agree with @xAsh and @kfact on this.
    this map is unfit to be considered an opposites rework of any sort.
