    I 100% agree but you forget that chemist is one of the few reliable counters to the defensive beast that is pyro, which is the thing that countered buffed heavies *shudders* and soldiers. So... How to fix? Tweak heavy and simultaneously need the 3 OP classes: chemist, pyro, and soldier. This chemist nerf would work well if that happens. Except against dwarves, but that's a separate convo entirely.

    Personally I hate Chemists, They are the bane of most classes (including #offensiveNecro's) Existence. But they are easy to beat by dealing enough damage to them to make them heal, then get in their heal pot's radius. Once they are practically healing you there is no need to heal yourself.

    thing is, I'm fine with 1v1s to a point, it just annoys me how they can get through defensive flagrooms unscathed.

    The problem is that if you nerf chemist, it will get dominated by everything else. Chemist needs a nerf, but you will need to nerf it at the same time as pyro and soldier. Otherwise, it's really pretty useless.

    The problem is this isn't an adequate change. People think the only thing that makes Chemist OP is its health pool, which isn't true. (Its ridiculous damage output comes to mind.. why play Ninja when you can play Armoured Ninja with 10 healing potions and more damage?) What makes Chemist OP is that it can play every role too well. If you lower the health pool, it still does every role equally well as it does now (except maybe capping), but for less time before it dies, which hardly matters since we instantly respawn. To truly fix Chemist, we need to reach a consensus on what role Chemist is supposed to play, and rebalance it to mainly fulfill that role. This is the same reason why this idea: https://www.brawl.com/threads/42854/ (@Cybz) is bad in and of itself. It buffs Chemist's support abilities without nerfing its offensive abilities. That idea would be a good addition to a Chemist that has been rebalanced to a support class.

    For example, a support Chemist could have the above ability, more buff potions with less time on them, a weaker sword, lower health pool, a bit more armour, and few if any debuff potions. Hardly as simple as just removing a few health potions.

    I think we need a community vote on what role a reworked Chemist should focus on, then we can actually figure out how to implement it.

    To be honest chemist can support their own team, it has speed, it has harming and poison potions and it can get fire resistance. It also has insane damage output. ur 'avin a giggle if you think it'll be underpowered if the amount of healing potions it gets is decreased, even if its only temporary when chemist can get proper time to get a rework or a more thought out nerf.

    I've said so many times: Chemist needs to be split into a class with buffs and a class with damage pots.

    I agree with the premise but not the way of doing it. I think that the damage potions can say bye-bye. I think poison potions can be reduced to 5 and be made into poison II and slowness I for 10 seconds. I think the health pots should go down to 6 potions, and regeneration to 2 or 3. The buffs should last 20 seconds instead of 2 minutes, but should be increased to 7 or 8. Why the buff change? It makes it so chemist always has to re-buff themselves for fights and has to pick and choose where to be buffed or not. This also drains the magic meter faster.

    Disagree with armored ninja: Armored ninja can't go invisible.
    I like the rest.
    As far as a role goes, I think chemist needs t change from "support" to offense. Chemist is one of pyro's few reliable counters, and I think that there would be a hole in offense if chemist wasn't a part of it.

    But for now, changing a few numbers to nerf the second most controversial class in the game sounds like a good idea to me.

    Stuff like that is for the future of CTF - if nothing changes now, CTF won't have any future.

    To be fair, I'm more concerned about the potspam than the amount of pots they have. I do agree though, maybe a reduce in pots is a good idea. Nom is spending his time fixing the bugs atm, which is sort of more important than the class tweaks/reworks. I'm sure classes will be adapted eventually [=

    I agree with that, but I think that they're afraid that changing a couple of numbers will make even more bugs appear, and they probably want to get the current bugs fixed before making new ones D=

    I highly doubt it'll cause any bugs, and if it does they can always revert the code.

    I don't think changing those numbers is a good idea until pyro and soldier are also nerfed.

    Chemist needs to be very tank-y to keep up with defenses: pyro shuts down literally almost every other class. Until other classes can get past pyro, chemist needs to be 100%.

    Yes, but top priority is getting the bugs fixed, not the classes tweaked, no matter how easy it'd be. You also have to consider the numbers can't just be changed - confirmation has to go through the community and staff to the exact numbers.
    I'm certain chemist will be changed, you just have to be patient. The bugs are a far higher priority at the moment.

    Imo the amount of potions shouldn't be changed. As already discussed above the chemist is currently playing a very important role in balancing offense and defense. I agree though, that chemist is a very strong class at the moment (but so are mage and pyro). To nerf chemist I would prefer a small cooldown seperatedly for each potion. That way the chemist can't just spam his health potion to break through defense. Also the annoying (instant damage-)pot-spamming would be prohibited, forcing the chemist to use his potions more wisely. That way chemist is significantly nerfed and harder to play. Still, if played skillfully it can still meet its purpose.
