    Just me talking but I don't see any reason why teams should be advertised like Mars Bars. Besides doing so would only add even more spam to the chat screen and god knows it has enough of that.

    Further explanation:

    You know how on mcpvp, tips were given out at the top of the chat like "soldiers can right click their sword to climb walls" etc, those messages could be added back for new brawl players (That have little clue how to play CTF) on the scoreboard or in chat. This would prevent those terribly frustrating moments when a medic stares at you wondering why you are dancing in their face and walks off.

    So I know this has turned into something somewhat different, but for example, I didn't know about teams until around February this year after being with McPvP from October 2014.

    To wrap this up, what i am saying is that tips should be added back to help new players, and among those tips should be something like "want to improve your CTF experience, make new friends and have tons more fun, join a CTF team today here...."

    That example really doesn't work at all in the context of this idea.
    People will join a team if they want too. I don't see how there is a need or a point to advertising it in game.

    I quite thoroughly agree with this, as I have been playing mcctf since 2012, but did not know a single thing about the community nor teams till middle of 2014. I would've enjoyed so much more if I joined a team sooner and gotten to know more people. Also, I'm sure some of the teams would like some more good people to apply to their team, especially new teams.

    You didn't know about teams because you weren't involved in the community. Players who want to be involved in the community would join the forums and find teams. Teams also don't have to wait for apps. If they need good players, they could always go out to servers and recruit players. I often see good players who aren't involved in the community. Also, you could consider bringing some Brawlers onto your team.

    I could just imagine black banners around the map flashing letters to make out teams I can see why brawl likes banners. Good to advertise and maybe the flags could have the same thing.

    It's also entirely possible to be a part of the community without joining a team.

    If you're going to advertise anything, advertise the forum. That way, players who weren't aware of the community in the first place could be made aware, and from there, find a team, post a rework, etc.
