    CTF Map Submission

    Structure Restrictions (Already placed): All the stone bricks in the walls are monster eggs. I also covered the ground in the spawn/flag room with monster eggs. The walled area next to the flag is not completely covered in monster eggs.
    Some other things:
    - The fact that the spawn is close to the flag may be a bit scary to some of you but I put it there to help balance out the vulnerability of the flag.
    - The top of every big tree is accessible by normal classes.
    - The sponge outside of the spawn sends players close to the middle of the map.
    - Time of the map is : 23456

    You really know how to make things look pretty. Aesthetically, this is one of the best maps out there right now so kudos to you for having those mlg block placing skillz. As for the gameplay though, I have a few things that bother me. The first, and probably the most important one, is that the map is extremely long. It'd take a non-speed class forever to cap on here, and I don't think sponges are a viable option for this map. The second thing is that the flag room... isn't really a room at all. It's just out in the open by spawn, which makes for a very awkward map for defensive players. Overall, I'd say the bases need a major overhaul gameplay wise in my opinion but besides that everything else is fine.

    From my understanding of how he built the map... I think he purposely built the flag-room in such a way that it's hard to head-shot, while still remaining a place where it is easily capable. Let's not use the term flag-room, as a matter of (k)fact, it should be considered a "Flag-Area". I find the "Flag-Area" viable, and does not inhibit or reduce the fundamentals of game play - say it be inside of some sort of structure, it would not suit the map. However, I do agree on the overall mobility on the map... Minimal. The map is big, and there are sponges. Teams will (Do not quote me on this) Most likely adapt to the map size, and go Ninja, or be Chemist to give other classes a little speed buff. Let's not forget Engineer here, which probably be the foundation of this map, making it easy to get from one side to the other. Mage, Heavy, Pyro and Necro will be the only classes with mobility issues if they chose not to take one of many ways to navigate the map. I'm not saying you're wrong, but maybe look at this map from a different- and more... unique Prospective?

    aesthetics- 9/10 I really like the use of fences for the trees and mix of blocks but i don't like the massive waterhole in the middle as it doesn't suit the theme.

    gameplay- 3/10 Ok I'm not being harsh here but the gameplay needs improving hugely. It is archer op for a start so try adding so walls to hide behind. The grass everywhere makes it hard to PvP and with the ferns I can't imagine how hard it would be. The flag is just open, if u stand here it is quite a simple headshot of the flag so make it into a flag room or soemthing. although it isn't soldier op the map the flag is they could try tree hopping but running for a bit. overall the map is way to long meaning it's very hard to cap and recovers have lots of time to recover.

    overal- 6/10 use the ideas i used and maybe a 7 or 8

    Thanks! I also thought the water was a bit out of place but I couldn't find a very good alternative that stills maintained it's purpose for gameplay.

    The map is pretty open but I think there's enough cover to avoid archers. Also considering that most players will basically enter midfield around the middle of the map due to the sponge at the spawns there isn't too much time when a player is that vulnerable.

    The forests aren't really places to PVP. The soulsand/slimeblocks/slabs/frequent obstacles make it difficult to move in them. They're more used for hiding.
    I also think you're exaggerating the effect of the grasses when you say you "can't imagine how hard it would be". There actually isn't that much tall grass and since they're located in places that are hard to move in or right next to open ground it isn't that hard to combo them into a glass pane or knock them out of a forest patch.

    I think the close spawn to flag makes up for the flag's vulnerability.

    I dont think tree hopping is gonna be an issue on this map.

    There's a big sponge at spawn which makes moving around quicker and the flag is easy to steal as the right class and the flag is vulnerable

    Also please don't ever say "im not being harsh" before a trashing something :I

    i never said i didn't like the map it's just gameplay wise i like it aesthetically

    The map is fine gameplay wise, you (along with everyone else) - is not use to seeing something like this, and are unfamiliar with this type of gameplay. CTF is pretty generic when it comes to the maps, but maps coming up with unique gameplay ideas, are very good. This map is one of them. As I said before, this map is to be looked at from a different prospective... Not in comparison to all the other good ctf maps.

    Also, the angle of elevation from the flag to the boardwalk, if you want to call it that, makes it pretty difficult for archers to headshot from all but (VERY) few places.
