    CTF Map Submission

    Map Name:Express
    Style:Modern, Modern buildings and trains

    Description:This map has a basic theme in a town with quite a bit of commute. There is a subway, an above-ground railroad passing through the town, and then a a ridge at the edge of the map with another railroad running across. The flag-area is located inside one of the shops inside of the mini-mall area on the top floors. The spawns are located in the back train car on the top of ridge railroad where players kind of "fall out" of into gameplay.

    I do not like this map. It's gameplay would be extremely unbalanced. The tall buildings and large obstacles make soldier completely dominant if out of the flag room. The map is also very easy for ninjas to cross and archers to shoot choke points.

    Im sorry, but fail to understand. I will not try to argue, but i think that having more obstacles would make the map more "archer proof", but then having more of a soldier advantage, however, having little obstacles would make the map extremely susceptible to players getting headshotted by archers. I know of plently of maps where there are obstacles, such as the map clocktower, where the map map is super soldier op. So my point is, i have dont understand why this map is any different from maps with this experience in gameplay. I feel like i could quote the same about a few other maps. Although, i do understand why it would be a ninja op map because it is a shorter map compared to some others making it easier for them to pearl across map.

    Your obstacles are all in straight lines. The roads are straight making archer and ninja extremely easy to play. Don't compare other maps' problems to yours; it won't help. Yes, the maps in rotation have problems. However, while we're on that topic, Clocktower isn't that soldier OP because of the flagroom. The flagroom is very defense oriented. Anyways, let's keep the discussion about the map.

    Ok, i understand. I was just having trouble understanding because i found what you were saying was kinda vague for me becuase i just have a hard time understand some things sometimes (im more of a visual learner if that makes sense)
    But i agree, and i would like to see what some other people think as well too

    @furtles. Clocktower is a bigger version of this map, there are even longer roads and taller buildings and yet it's a great map. This map isn't all too aesthetically pleasing and the flag room is a bit too unorganized looking. But it is definitely a great start to a possible map in rotation!

    As I said previously, don't compare these maps to ones in rotation. It means nothing. Remember, Halo was a only removed recently.

    Well... should i keep this disscussion open? Because at this point, im not going to find it worth fixing a lot of these things you guys mentioned, so im starting to lose hope. I suppose this was not a very good ctf map. But im still open to whatever anyone else wants to say.

    The number one don't of making a CTF is map is give up. Never give up! If you built this in single player, it might be a bit of harder. I would recommend getting World Edit. With WE, you can adjust the spacing and height of the buildings very easily. I would recommend sliding buildings over so archers can't shoot all the way across the map. Then, you might try lowering the height of the buildings, making them more accessible, adding skywalks between them, and other tidbits like that. After that, maybe you could revise the flag room.

    I can see this map have potential for rotation, but still need some work. I would list some fixes I have in mind, but I'm too lazy to.

    I like the layout of this map but like @furtles said, a bit too soldier op. I'd recommend some way of access to the top of the building. I haven't seen the map in person so I maybe wrong.
