    Heavy's probably the second most underpowered class, slightly better than Necro, and it really could do with a buff. Considering its the first thing new players will play, its too bland and doesn't have anything exciting to offer to new players contrary to things such as Soldier's wall-climb or Pyro's instakill.

    Heavy should get a block of bedrock/obsidian renamed "Tank" and when it is held, Heavy takes no knockback. Whenever someone hits the Heavy, they get knocked back 5 blocks and 1 block into the air, but Heavy takes double damage.

    This'd make Heavy be able to tank better as it doesn't get knocked back and can throw away other people much easier. The double damage isn't as bad as it sounds, as Heavy barely takes any damage now.

    Also, since CTF's only true tanking class gets instakilled by 1/4 of all classes, it'd seem fitting to Heavy being immune to instakills when it is tanking. However, I've brought this up a lot before and people generally dislike it so it wouldn't have to be added.

    So that it can't permanently be like this, a mana system similar to Chemist's should be added. Every second the Heavy is in tanking mode, 1/10th of the XP bar is lost. Every second the Heavy is out of the tanking mode, 1/5th of the XP bar is gained. Heavy cannot tank when it has no XP.

    I would make the bedrock prevent against assassin, but not pyro or archer instakills

    I disagree with the idea of knocking people back. The idea of a heavily armored class is to have a bit of a chance at killing it. This is pretty far from the original, but here's an idea that still involves the "tank" mode.

    To start out with, the heavy has much weaker armor, perhaps iron chest and legs with diamond helmet and boots (idk, maybe throw some gold in there if it doesn't make the class look like walking vomit), but it still has the diamond sword. Then, when tank mode is activated, the armor switches to the good ol' full diamond, but the sword is reduced to 1: an iron sword, or 2: a stone sword either with sharpness enchants or the heavy gets a strength pot effect.

    If the tank mode is even to happen, though, without some nerfs people may use it as part of an OP capping strategy, so one or both of two things would need to happen.
    1: When in tank mode, add a slowness effect. This makes you much more vulnerable when tanking with the flag.
    2: If you're to keep with the anti-instakill aspect, arrows must do tons of damage, an assassin do just as much damage per hit, and when on fire a pyro axe do at least four times its current damage (note the "when on fire"). However annoying pyros are (I'm not mentioning archers because I'm a biased archer main :stuck_out_tongue:), I'm strongly against the idea of no insta-kill.

    In very shortest, it's a little bit like an inverse Assassin, however you have decent armor to start out with.

    If the idea of a heavily armoured class was to give others a chance of killing it, why would it be heavily armoured?

    The whole point of a heavily armoured class is to make it harder to kill, which enables it to tank. Right now, it can tank reasonably well but it has no ability that makes it do so, meaning the tanking aspect is simple and dull.

    There's a time when something can get too simple. Simplicity isn't so important that the very first class that every new player will play should be this simple. Simplicity is important (hence why I spent a while trying to change my idea so it was as simple as it could be), but if there's too much simplicity it can get uninteresting and boring.

    Heavy is the neutral class. It's for a reason why everyone who enters CTF starts as heavy. There is no single reason to change heavy (except a shield edition which should fit heavy fine)

    It has no abilities and it has no weaknesses. It's focus is on direct pvp.

    Which is why its such a boring and underused class. Abilities and weaknesses in classes is what makes them interesting to play, hence why heavy is not interesting. If the first thing new players get to play as is boring, they'll form a negative first impression on CTF and end up leaving.

    Good point. But keep in mind that it has A.) the best armour in the game, and B.) it's a free class.

    Yes but as SoCool said, it's the most boring and under used class. The only people I ever see are newbs that haven't figured out how to change or a select few that main the class.

    Having the best armour isn't exactly interesting to use, you just wear it and it does its job separately and it does its own thing. You can't come up with strategies with armour (in this case, at least, as the armour you get for a class is fixed). With abilities, it depends on how you use it - since you're actually activating the ability, you can come up with plenty of strategies as to how you use the ability. Its discovering strategies like this which lets you explore game mechanics (which is called mechanical discovery) and even high-end game developers keep this in mind.

    A class without abilities is boring, and there's no strategies to discover.

    srsly u know myne he destroyed pala when pala was buffed
    myne wasnt buff
    heavy doesnt need buff cause a buffed heavy is like a ninja with armour -_-
    instakills r normal socoo, ctf without instas is bad
    xp bar is not required cause every1 who can pvp good can clean a flagroom as a normal heavy
    so to be good as heavy u just need skill in pvp not buffs cause the buffed heavys r noobys (like ninjas)
