    Well, instead of an anology let me put it like this: Ninja is an offensive oriented recoverer, assassin is a defensely oriented recoverer.

    I disagree. When the main difference you can find between the two classes gets as specific as 'offensive' and 'defensive' recovery that's basically conceding that the two classes don't really play any different roles in the game. Plus, it still makes no sense to me why you'd have another class in CTF that has such a similar role to Ninja and that acts in a similar way to Ninja, which your rework makes even more similar!

    I just don't see how you can make Assassin play a unique role from Ninja because the classes are inherently alike.

    Ever since McPVP tossed it into the game, all Assassin is and ever has been is an alternative assassination class to Ninja and the one class that can counter a lvl 20+ Dwarf. I don't know if Assassin was added to act as a band aid fix to Dwarf's insane imbalance (aside from being a money grab) but let's assume for a moment that it was. If Dwarf's ridiculous power was capped and instant kills were removed where would there be a place for Assassin? In some type of recovering? No. All would have to be done then would be to buff and or change Ninja. CTF could be more diverse if redundant classes like Assassin were removed and replaced with another class that fills in a role not already filled by a whole bunch of other classes. Plus, that class would probably sell better.

    Why would I buy Assassin when I can buy Ninja, do nearly the exact same things with the class, and deal far more damage/get more kills over time? Or why would I buy your reworked Assassin when I can buy Ninja that does nearly the same things and does more damage?

    Each class should be able to do lots of cool things in a wide variety of roles but I think its a really big problem when you've got two classes that do damn near the same thing in the game like Assassin and Ninja. Besides, where's the argument against removing Assassin and just adding another class? That it would take too long? Too much effort? Because Assassin has its own place in the game?

    The way I see it is like this: if you want to make a game better you've got to change things and make it more diverse but building off of/fixing a band aid class like Assassin is merely nullifying the problem rather than solving it.

    Can you please chill out. Assassin didn't ruin mcpvp. Your bad attitude isn't helping. Guess what else is op. Chemist, soldier, heavy..... So please stop complaining about instakills it's all I see you do

    Try playing something other than instakill for once. Heavy isn't that OP, it just needs a small nerf on the armor. Soldier just needs a limit on how many times it can wall-climb. Chemist is OP, but not as OP as the instakills.
    PvP may rely on ping, but not as much as assassin does. If they have a better ping than you, or if you lag even a little, you're dead.

    See, I've been playing both classes for a long time, and never once thought them the same class, or too similar. Also, what I meant is that ninja is a better capper and offensive flag clearer than assassin, but assassin is better used on defense, and their roles overlap in recovery. They both have a main role of recovery, but the things they do outside of that are on opposite ends of the game. I use both for the same thing yes, but I use them in different ways. Why use ninja when I can use assassin? That argument goes both ways, and tbh, as an assassin main I prefer assassin.

    In addition, I think it's been stated that removing a class from the game is pretty much impossible because of the amount of refunds that have to be done. I mean, you could just replace assassin with a totally diferent class, but once again, I see that as pointless because I view assassin and ninja so differently.

    At this point its just differing opinions doe. You see ninja and assassin as too similar, I see them as vastly different. Yur not going to change my mind, and I wont change yours, so we should probably stop dis xdd

    To be honest I don't think assassin needs a rework, most of you have argumented your statements so this is my argument: assassin was created by McPVP players and has never been changed or nerfed when it was on McPVP. I don't get why it should be nerfed or reworked on Brawl if no one on McPVP ever thought about reworking or nerfing it.

    This isn't a good argument to go with because - using your logic - one could also say that classes like Pyro and Dwarf - both of which are broken - shouldn't be changed because they haven't been changed in the past.

    As for Assassin:

    Lots of people suggested ideas (@obikenobi21 for example) on McPVP forums for reworking Assassin. However at the time the priorities were (and still are) fixing bugs and catching hackers first and major class updates second, and that's why nothing was changed (also there was a general lack of available coders who weren't already working on HG or other game-modes) about the class.

    This is similar to ninja (stun and teleporting and constant speed) more than the old assassin. It is a great idea and was thought out very well. But it's just not fitting for ctf. Sounds like a good siege class to me

    I'd rather fight an assassin and pyro at once than a chemist. I play elf, archer, dwarf, engineer Necro. As well as pyro. I can three shot pyro's with this thing called strafing

    You can't strstrafe pyros because their bow is AoE. At least chemist doesn't instakill.

    Says the assassin main. McPvP was lazy about updating games other than HG and they never listened to the community, which is why the OP classes never got changed.

    If pyro didn't get instakills I'd be cool with it. Just don't change the swag armor and weapons and I'm happy *edit* iron axe would look doper tho

    Maybe because he said like Leblanc :stuck_out_tongue:. It also has the several abilities.

    I think this rework, it sounds really fun and skillful.
