CTF Team Update | Welcome CTF Teams to Brawl!

Sup CTF’ers!


WE BACK IN BUSINESS BABY. To those of you that are already familiar with CTF Teams, thank you for waiting so long (trust me, I was dying too), and to those that are new to CTF Teams, welcome! CTF Teams is a core part of CTF’s community and has been run by moderators since 2012. This is a very organized and regulated system and there’s a lot to it so if you’re confused by anything by all means ask away and I’ll do my best to answer you as soon as possible. Also, these update threads happen on a monthly basis around the beginning of every month (think brawl news, but for CTF Teams exclusively) to keep teams updated on any new developments regarding CTF Teams, as well as new teams being officialized. Anyways, now that we have a match server up and running (thank you @NomNuggetNom ), matches can now be organized. I will explain in more detail on skype as to how to go about scheduling matches and how to connect to our match server (skype is required for the team representatives), but for the most part things will remain the same, except for one slight/major difference (depends on how you look at it). CTF Teams will now be managed by a new committee dedicated just to running this which as of right now is comprised of the original CTF staff from MCPVP. Of course this is just to start off, as we will continually add other staff members that become involved within the team scene. The members of this committee are also the only ones authorized to ref matches so if you need a staff member to ref a match for you, feel free to contact the following people via Skype/Forum PM/Teamspeak:

We have almost all of our commands working with brawl (minus global mute), however we only have one team server to start with unlike the two that we had previously and we unfortunately lost the ability to deliver on the spectator mode as we had promised previously. BUT, that’s all in the past and I’m just glad we have teams back up and running. With all that out of the way: on with the update!

New Official Teams: ( ← Pending teams will become official here every month)

• Ascension, and The Outcasts are now official teams! You may now organize official matches and change your status from [Pending] to [Official]! Get your team representative to contact me or anyone else from the CTF Team Committee to get you started.

Inactive/Disbanded Teams: ( ← Warnings for inactive teams go here, as well as recently disbanded teams)

• None at the moment. For reference, any team that goes two months without having an official match will be considered [Inactive]. Further inactivity beyond this point will result in consequences such as disbandment.

Player/Team Strikes: ( ← Penalties given to players/teams for unsportsmanship, etc. Click link below for more information.)

• (1) NORTH_UNITED_tV - striked during the transition phase from MCPVP to brawl. Cannot participate in official matches until September 10th.
  
  
• Just for reference, the reason behind a player strike is in most cases between the player and the staff. There may be some cases in which a player does something in public to earn a strike, or tells other players about it but if you do not know why, best to leave it like that as we don’t divulge that information publicly. The (#) by a player’s name here is the number of strikes that player has. Once you have three strikes, you are banned from teams.
  
  
• Also, players with strikes from before the brawl transfer now have a clean slate.

Now, this next bit is for the teams involved in the CTF Tournament that was running before MCPVP shut down. If you aren’t involved or don’t know what I’m talking about don’t worry about this, keep movin.

So while this tourney isn’t really official anymore by Brawl’s standards, we will finish this tournament as promised, without prizes though unfortunately but I doubt anyone cares that much. In case those of you have forgotten, here is the progress for the tourney when we left off:




So about 5-6 matches left (depending on the championship results). Now, our lovely event coordinator, way2, would like to do more events once this is over so I would like for this tournament to be done by the end of September. This can be done easily with one round a weekend. I don’t want to have to babysit the teams into scheduling matches when you guys forget. This has been going on for 8 months now and we gotta finish that chapter to start a new one. That being said, best of luck to the remaining teams!

Seeing as we cannot give players spectator mode (or any gamemode for that matter), the stream team from MCPVP is unfortunately disbanded. In the future though, I will speak to @way2 about possibly streaming some CTF stuff.
