Why is Archer Free?

All I see is "

 

It's only "op" if you have good aim.

If it was so OP why did your team still lose?

 

maybe it's the map's problem

maybe you can separate archer into 2. so the premium archer is the one with the instakills but no punch and the free archer has a bow with other enchantments. like power 3, infinity and punch 2

 

i think as archer you need luck, skill and you have to be creative (killing people, find different places fast, kill with sword or bow, ...)
to be honest i think that on every map you can make a good kd

 

Archer is pretty much the simplest class aside from heavy, adding the fact that it's free and has an instakill make for some annoying gameplay.

 

Archer is free because some men just want to watch the woylde burn, clearly.

Also because if it wasn't it'd probably be soldier heaven, forever.

 

I suggest brawl makes soldier & archer premium for some extra profit!

 

Let's make every class premium and only the hardcore players should stick around

It's a killing class, expect kills. Plus the fact it's overpowered, which you've already said. I really don't expect much less from good archers XD

 

My opinion is that there should be an instakill kit that is free, not including dwarf .

 

I feel that archer balances out the free classes and the premium classes. It's the only free class that has the right abilities to be a good recoverer, not to mention if it wouldn't be a free class, CTF would be more pay-to-win seeing as all instakill classes are premium, and people with only free classes are kinda screwed.

Archer is free bcuz if it wasn't then Chemist would be free and nobody wants that.

 

Also, it is quite hard to chase a flag carrier across the map if you need to dodge enemy archers meanwhile. But i definately agree that archer's long range instakill makes it a good recoverer; maybe one of the best if a ninja can recover the flag for you.

 

the only class that is actually OP is pyro (and maybe mage) but thats a given. Everything else actually takes skill. Archer is one of those classes that took quite a bit of time to get the hang of even with the headshots. I've been player this game on and off(for about 4 years) but everytime I do its archer. I love the class, but it was very hard learning how to adapt to various types of lag, learning how to move your feet, learning how to determine where ninja's are and fight them, learning how to time soldiers jumps, learning how to fight long range with another archer, learning how to compensate for water/walls, learning how aim period, learning how to compensate for zig zagging (ass holes), learning how to deal with elves, learning how to fight close range with a bow (it can be more effective than a sword), learning how to be patient when recovering, learning that rage only makes you miss more, learning when its time to fall back because armor only does soo much. For some it comes natural for others not so much. If you get headshotted, congratulate the guy because he worked hard for the damn headshot.

I can tell you I've had some once in a life time shots that not skill or luck can even reach. Nothing needs to change about this class.

Archer is more than a class, its a work of art.
